Good pizza!
by pana1 at Citysearch
I would say this place comes in in the top 5 in Kansas City. It is in a fun funky part of town and the atmosphere reflects that a bit. The crust is just right crispy but not overcooked. Plenty of topping choices and fairly quick.
Great food, great atmosphere, best beer selection in South K

This is one of my favorite haunts in Kansas City. Of particular note is their certified cicerone, Elliot, who can make fantastic beer selections and tell you as much as you can stand to hear about it.
Great Pizza!

Somebody at Waldo Pizza is in Love with Saint Louis and I dig it. The Saint Louis style Pizza is great. We created our own with the provolone that it comes with, red sauce, basil, roma tomatoes, roasted chicken --- it was wonderful!! The atmosphere was fun and we were seated within 30 min on a Friday night! I think anyone in KC or passing through should stop in!
Fun Toppings, Local Place
by bcfol440 at Citysearch
We like the thin crust mushroom & tomato. For "fun" we have ordered the seafood with alfredo sauce and the gyro meat w/ feta. Those were good, but the regular pizza is what I like the best!
We order during the week to save some $ - they have specials. The pizza has a "creamy" taste to it - must be the cheese they use. It's great.
- Pros: Location, Local Dining, Thin Crust
- Cons: Parking can be hard
good food but needs more seating

While the pizza was good, I didn't see it being worth all the hype it usually gets. The night we were there the place was packed, partly because a large group from a kids' soccer team was there - VERY loud! It took us about 30 minutes to get seated and then the waitress was stressed and took a long time to come back with our drinks before she ever took our order. I'm willing to admit that I need to go back on another night to give it a fair shot, but if you're looking for good pizza in KC there are other places to go with food just as good and more seating room.
- Pros: good food, great beer selection
- Cons: can get very busy and it isn't that big a place
Great traditional pizza and vegan pizza
by crownskid at Citysearch
Great pizza, good atmoshphere, and the best lunch buffet in town.
What really makes this place great is the Vegan pizza. My wife is vegan and that doesn't leave many options for going out and grabbing a slice, but waldo has got that problem covered. The salad bar isn't huge, but the garlic ranch dressing is great and provides another quality option for the avoiders of all things meat.
- Pros: vegan options
- Cons: prices are a little high
Pizza Heaven

Waldo Pizza is the very best pizza in the greater Kansas City area. The just right, hand tossed crust is perfectly complimented by the amazing sauce and the endless options of fresh toppings. The atmosphere is fun, upbeat and friendly, perfect for friends, couples and families without catering to any one customer base. Waldo Pizza is the perfect pizza. This is where pizza goes when it dies.
Best Pizza in the U.S.
by italianstallion_7 at Citysearch
I have lived many places in the U.S. (including New York) and have never found such an amazing pizza place! The St. Louis style crust is unbelievable, and the list of possible toppings seems to go on for ever (not to even mention the beer list!). Although I no longer live in the Kansas City area, I make it a point to eat here when I visit with friends (as recently as last month). I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good pizza and an unpretensious environment.
- Pros: Food, Atmosphere
Gone downhill over the years...

I used to go to Waldos every weekend but have stopped since their expansion. The pizza is as good as ever, but the ambiance has changed. There are too many large parties, especially post-sports game parties where parents think it is appropriate to bring 20 kids in to eat. Minsky's on Main does not cater to these kinds of parties and they now earn my business. It's a shame because Phil is a nice guy but he needs to take control of his business better. Parents - take your kids to Pizza Hut!!
- Pros: pizza is great, beer selection, salad bar is fresh
- Cons: too noisy, can wait long 4 table
Oh Yeah!

Finally, a GREAT pizza place our family can agree on! We used to argue over NY or chicago. Their hand tossed siuts the bill for all. Fresh, gooey, delicious! The ONLY pepperoni I will eat! Sandwiches are top notch too. Good optoins for kids-garlic cheese bread instead of sacrificing half your pizza to "just cheese." GREAT value!
