I will have to go along with the crowd on this one! This place is great. I have lived in many cities and looked for many stylist and salons in my life.. Not an easy task. I have to say This really is the best salon I have found. The atmosphere & decor are very modern. The entire staff is personable and professional. They work together well and aim to please! They also have a great website. Lindsey has cut and highlighted my hair for years. She is very talented and easy to work with. She takes a lot of time to explain to me what is the best type of product to use -- not brand but type; mousse, gel, etc. and to show me how to blowdry my hair. She is awesome. No pressure and always strives for customer satisfaction. I don't even think of going anywhere else! Many thanks to Lindsey and the rest of the crew at New Creations. Keep up the good work. You guys are the best. Thumbs Up !
Pros: very colorful and modern atmosphere
Cons: wish I would have found them 10 yrs ago

I just moved here a year ago so I needed to find a regular stylist. My search was less than good. I spent a LOT of $$ and a lot of time not liking my hair. I never knew it was such a difficult thing to find someone I could trust to say "Do whatever" and it come out looking great. A co-worker recommended Kasie at New Creations and since she always had cute hair I checked it out.. I am SO GLAD I did! What a cute salon. She listened to me (which was different than my other experiences) and asked questions about my styling rituals. I LOVE my color. It is very shiny and doesn't feel dry at all. She did Highlights with some dark pieces.. It really fits my style. I am very happy. I have had so many people ask me where I get my hair done. I can't recommend Kasie @ New Creations enough. I will definatly be a loyal client as long as I live in KC !!!
Pros: great location. Talented Stylist

I had a friend recommend this salon so I thought I would check it out. I'm so glad I did the experience was great. I went in for a pedicure and facial. I don't get to go very often for these things so when I do it's a special treat. The pedicure was very relaxing and my feet looked great. During the facial the lady walked out for a few minutes to let me relax and that's exactly what I did, the music put me to sleep within seconds, VERY NICE any woman that has kids knows those moments are few and far between. I am getting my hair cut there next week and I'm sure it will be just as wonderful of an experience. All the girls there were really friendly and I felt like I made some new friends. I don't go many places that make me feel so welcome and comfortable so I wanted to share my amazing experience.
Pros: Professional & Talented staff. Very colorful & warm space
Cons: Wish I would have gone sooner!

I experienced an unprecedented level of unprofessionalism at New Creations Salon. I normally go to Beauty Brands to get my eyebrows waxed and although they always do a good job, I really wanted to find someone who could take an artistic approach.I read great reviews about Sandra's ability on City Search, so I made an appointment for the following day at 2pm. I arrived just a few minutes before 2pm, was offered a drink, and asked to take a seat and Sandra would be with me in just a few minutes. After being left alone in the seating area for 30 minutes without anyone speaking a word to me, I asked the woman who had initially greeted me how much longer it would be. I am accustomed to waiting 15 minutes at a salon....appointments run late, and so on. But 30 was a little much. I explained that I had to be at work at 3:15 and I was told it would be just a few more minutes. At about 2:50 Sandra entered and said she wasn't aware that anyone had been waiting, told me take a seat, and continued to help the customer that she was working with prior to me, offering her free samples, giving her eye pencils, and trying to overcome the fiasco of discovering a bald spot in the girl's eyebrow after her first waxing. I would have already walked out except for the fact that I had to go to work and the next day I was going out of town, so this was my only opportunity. Finally at 3pm, she begins to work on me. She swears like a sailor and I am taken aback by the fact that she isn't being more apologetic or offering a discount considering how long I had been waiting. She reccommends that I get my lip waxed, I agree to it and then she recieves a phone call. She took the call while she was waxing my lips! She bragged about how her attention to detail produces great results. But she forgot about the basics. She did a good job on my eyebrows but her unprofessionalism made it a horrible experience. I work in the service industry and I am very forgiving....but that was unforgivable.

I found New Creations Salon after reading all the great reviews. I am soo glad I did. Kasie balanced out my hair color and whipped these curls into shape, she is a great stylist. My hair is so light and curly-and the curly hair "shelf" is gone. Kasie really took the time to listen to my hair concerns and went out of her way to explain her cutting technique and the products she was using. She also showed me how to use the diffuser properly (I'd been using it the wrong way and getting the frizzies everytime) She also gave me some pretty large sample sizes of the products that had helped my hair look so great. I got to try them without any pressure to buy anything. I actually do love all the products and am planning on buying them. Good marketing idea?? Smart I thought. I am excited to go back. If you're looking for a great stylist, check her out. Also the salon is VERY cute and inviting.

Incredibly talented! Sandra is amazing. She sculpts eyebrows into a work of art. So often I get compliments about how perfect my eyebrows are… the length, the arch, everything. Sandra is capable of giving you an instant facelift just by shaping your eyebrows. She is the best. Also Lindsey is an incredible hair artist. She’s ridiculously talented at cutting hair. She really listened and asked a lot of questions about my styling habits and lifestyle before she even talked about what to do to my hair. She gave me an angled bob and it was AMAZING! The cut was perfect. (I’ve been getting so many compliments) she is also gifted at coloring hair. We decided to take my blonde hair to a chocolate brown with some highlights… GORGEOUS !!! This is by far the best my hair has looked in years. Which is why I decided to share the wealth and write this review. After struggling with stylist after stylist, she finally made it work, and it works beautifully! Both of these girls are very interested in YOU and what’s going on in your world. They are genuinely good people with a lot of talent! I love this salon! You will too. It is a very cool salon with talent and style.
Pros: Warm and friendly salon...Talent & concern unsurpassed
Cons: I wish I had found them 5 years ago.

This is my first review on CitySearch, but I do feel compelled to write a review because the service I received at this salon was so awful. It is some consolation that at least some of the other reviewers experienced the same bizarre behavior at this salon that I did. Let's get into it: I called ahead to make an appointment, letting the woman who answered the phone know that I had just recently moved to Kansas City and was looking to get a manicure and massage. She informed me that she is the owner and to come up right away because she could get me in quick. I'm thinking "great!" and drive up, only to be told to sit in a chair and wait - I waited for over an hour before she even acknowledged me and then she handed me nail polish remover and told me to start taking my polish off!!! I don't know why, but I actually obliged, and she still had me wait another 45 minutes while she worked on another client. Why did she even tell me to come in if she was busy?! She was so rude to me about the condition of my nails, she barely paid attention to me while she was gossiping about other clients to a client! She was just so unprofessional, smoking cigarettes while working on the other woman's nails, and when the woman left, she just went to the back room for a half an hour while I am still waiting! To make matters even worse, she went on and on about her personal problems with past and present employees, her home life, run-ins with the law, etc. It was unbelievable! Then - this is the most disturbing, even more disturbing than waiting around while she makes personal phone calls and talks about paying customers behind their backs - she brings out a parrot and forces it onto my shoulder! Why would anyone have a bird in a SALON? And why would you force it to sit on a customer's body when they are coming to you and paying you money to perform services that they don't really even perform? This was the strangest, worst visit to a salon I have ever been to!
Pros: Location and decoration (appearances can be deceiving!)
Cons: Late, rude, too busy, animals in the salon

I made an appointment at New Creations based on the recommendations on this site. When I got there, I didn't know that my stylist, Katie, was in the middle of her first week as a professional stylist. And if it hadn't come up in conversation, I wouldn't have known it from the cut and color she gave me either--she did an AMAZING job. She and Sandra, the owner, consulted with me in detail about the color. They ended up doing two separate foils to give me a multidimensional, rich color that is without doubt the best I've ever had in 20 years of coloring my hair. As for the cut, I sort of vaguely described what I had in mind, and Katie understood perfectly and gave me a gorgeous cut. My friends can't stop complimenting me on it a week later. I left with a bunch of samples and some new products (which I needed--they didn't pressure me to buy them), looking better than I have in ages. Plus, Sandra and her whole staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home. The relaxed, fun atmosphere might not be for everybody, but I really enjoyed it. I'll be going back to New Creations for as long as I live in KC. What a great find.
Pros: Staff very warm and helpful. They make work look fun.
Cons: I wish other salons I'd been to had taken notes from this CUTE place.

I am a review virgin, but I had to write, b/c it's how I found this amazing cute little salon. I had to return the favor. I had been going to the same hairdresser for 10+ years. The last time I had my hair cut by my previous hairdresser I asked for a change and after giving her some suggestions she still cut my hair the same way. I have curly hair and I was always afraid to go to someone new, fearing they wouldn’t how to work with it or cut it appropriately ( Not like I had anything to loose, I now realize ) that was until I found Lindsey at New Creations. I am so happy with how she cut my hair. For the first time in a long time. I love my hair and the way I look. I have never loved a salon experience so much. She took my suggestions and incorporated her own creative flare, all the while explaining to me what she was doing and why. Lindsey really took her time and explained how to manage my hair whether curly or straight and recommended (but did not push) products that would be good for my hair either way I styled it. I quickly realized all the "professional advice" I'd gotten over the years didn't ever work b/c it was incorrect for my hair (.good thing it wasn't me} It was so great to have someone really look at me and my hair. I bought conditioner by Grund for 8$ and to my surprise, Katy puts in the bag (but not before reminding me how she had used them on me) free samples of every product she used on my hair. She even gave me shammy thing to use b/f adding conditioner.... Guess you do get some things for free. I appreciated being able to try them b/f buying a ton of stuff that I may never use. Turns out, it is all great so far. My hair looks better than it ever has!!!! I cannot recommend this salon enough. For anyone who has curly hair or just wants the best cut/color I’ve found Lindsey @ New Creations Salon knows hair ! !
Pros: Hours,Customer service. Extremely friendly knowledgable staff ,
Cons: Wish I had left my old salon before...
