Tom Fooleries is a classy restaurant located near Kansas City's very own plaza and has an incredibly comfortable, yet fancy feel to it. The atmoshpere is casual and classy, both at once and the menu is extraordinary. The many choices are overwhelming, but very inviting. The menu is based on a great variety of tastes and complements everybody's personal preferences, rnaging from burgers, exotic salads and wonderful pasta and chicken dishes.

  • Pros: good atmosphere, variety of food, great atmosphere
  • Cons: cool interior

Best Selection of Food to Acquire Anyone's Mood

by tysa at Citysearch

I went to Tomfooleries with a group of girlfriends a couple weekends back as part of a girls night out. We enjoyed a wonderful server that was open and friendly with a smile on her face. There was a great variety of food to choose from which was wonderful because none of us like the same thing. The atmosphere was fun and inviting to make the place feel like home. The prices were reasonable and the happy hour specials were amazing. We all enjoyed the Jose Cuervo Margaritas they have. We may have even enjoyed them a little too much. We enjoyed our dinner so much we went back the next day for the Sunday Brunch. It was amazing! The amount of food was more then our eyes could bare. We enjoyed making bloody marys. The Mary's themselves could be a meal with all the different possible choices of condiments. Overall, both trips were wonderful, the food was outstanding and the service was prompt and friendly.

  • Pros: Friendly Environment, Family Restaurant, Good Drinking Establishment
  • Cons: the powerful hand dryers in the bathrooms

NO WAY!!!

******DO NO GO TO THIS PLACE***** I must first admit that this restaurant was once top notch but it has declined substantially. Recently I was the victim of terrible service when the associates at this restaurant REFUSED to seat our group after AN HOUR (seriously other customers asked if they wanted us to eat with them because we waited so long!). I talked to the manager who also did not really want our business and the staff was not capable of seating my group, but they were able to seat multiple groups before us. Also to highlight my experience a member of the staff yelled at my group to never come back when we decided we had enough (this group consisted of two senior citizens, four professionals, and four children....not the rowdy type!!!). I would like to think that this was a one time situation, but I was subjected to the same treatment just two weeks prior to this last incident. Also in hindsight I realized was the victim to poor service several times over. So in summary save your time, money, and sanity and do not patron this establishement.

  • Pros: Close to home.
  • Cons: They don't really want your business.

A loud restaurant and bar where friends and business associates alike can enjoy a dark and lively atmosphere.

In Short
Although the booths afford a feeling of privacy, speaking has to be done at a high volume to drown out everyone else around. During dinner rush the atmosphere is fast-paced and the service is understandably a little slow, but seating is usually prompt. The menu includes appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, and pastas. The Southwestern egg rolls are chicken, black beans, and roasted corn in a crisp flour tortilla, drizzled with a perfectly not-too-sweet raspberry habanero sauce. The artichoke and mushroom pasta is too small and under seasoned for its price, but the made-from-scratch skillet pizzas for under $10 is a good deal and very filling.

The Sunday brunch value is the best! Everything you want.... and if you're of age go for a great double mary to accompany your meal!

Sunday Brunch

by tdstantu at Citysearch

This is the place to go for a brunch buffet on Sunday mornings or afternoons. A variety of food stretches from one end of the bar to another. They have omelettes made-to-order, breakfast, lunch and dessert. You can have a little of everything and go back as many times as you want.

  • Pros: Lots of food, Variety for everyone
  • Cons: parking, crowded-long wait
