What users are saying:
This newly remodeled space remains Kansas City's most opulent and historic venue.

The Scene
Hand-painted tiles, ornate wood-carvings, and red velvet curtains add a touch of class to this medium-sized venue. The decadent decor might contrast with rock or heavy-metal acts, but provides the perfect accompaniment to jazz performances and symphony shows.
The Story
The Uptown was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Since opening in 1928, it's hosted notable characters like Shirley Temple, Bob Hope and, more recently, Papa Roach and Blondie.
While You're There
A recent $15 million renovation added modern amenities to the Uptown's old-fashioned opulence. Kitchens, banquet hall and meeting rooms cater to conventioneers and wedding parties.
