NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY
by jenniferjuniper1970
Staff was rude and unfriendly. Waited very long time for check (needed to leave- kiddo was restless) they were unsympathetic and rude. I was with a party that had asked for separate checks- they issued a separate check FOR MY 7 YEAR OLD and were then rude when I questioned it.
- Pros: Food was ok
- Cons: VERY FAMILY UNFRIENDLY, CAN'T HAVE A TO GO BOX
Mongolian grill lunch is best - dinner prices too high, management is quirky, wait staff are great
by Wes1964
Pretty good mongolian grill. I've never had anything off the menu - only the all-you-can-eat mongolian grill. The dinner prices are WAY too high - lunch is definitely your best value. Also, management is a bit rude (the wait staff is typically terrific, though). For example, I was really thirsty and the glasses there are small - I asked the busy waiter to leave the pitcher at my table, or bring a few extra glasses, to save him from running around. He got into trouble for it! And this kind of thing happens almost every time I'm there - the management is very quirky. But the grill is great. Again, go for lunch - dinner is too expensive. (For another decent mongolian-style grill, try China One north of the river -- their other food is typical crappy chinese buffet, but the mongolian grill is similar to Genghis Khan, for a few bucks less)
- Pros: lunch is best, only about $9 / mongolian grill make it any way you want, wait staff is great
- Cons: dinner is overpriced, management is quirky, can be rude
Wonderful Mongolian Grill and worth every penny

It is true that any appetite can be satisfied at the Khan as they have the selection to go both meat eater and meat hugger. Lunch is definitely the best value as it's under $10, is all you can eat but does not include things like seafood (which you'll pay a bit extra for during lunch but it's included at the dinner price). They carry the best selction of ingredients for making your own unique sauce out of any of the Mongolian places I've eaten here in KC...which has it pros and cons...pros for me because I cook, cons for my brother and father who do not and become quite frustrated at the selection (even though there are nifty little recipes for you to follow). The service is always wonderful and the hostess or owner will come around and check and chat regularly making sure you are satisfied. The meats are always cold, still frozen usually, unlike many other Mongolian places I've been where many times the meat looks slimy from being out for so long and the vegetable selection is perfect.
- Pros: Great lunch value, wonderful selection of food
- Cons: I need to be wheelbarrowed out
Save some $, and go for lunch!
by bcfol440
Great place for lunch - it's cheaper than dinner and pretty much the same offerings from what I could tell. The chicken wings are oddly very good (comes w/ the bbq).
Great for any diet your group is on. The host and manager seem very nice!
- Pros: Location, Lunch Price
Hands on = good food

I always bring out of town guests to "The Kahn" as my fiance affectionately calls it. Even picky eaters can enjoy the food at the mongolian bbq, and if they don't like it, they can toss it and try again. Always a safe bet for a hungry crowd.
- Pros: Pleasant and attentive staff combined with good food and a fun factor for those who like to experiment with different sauce combinations.
Best Mongolian Barbecue in KC
by ulrich_phog
Have been dining there for lunch for last four years (not every day, of course)
Lunch is fast, get there at 11:00 or the hospital crowd gets large
Chefs are quick, buffet is well stocked, diverse and colorful
Wait staff are quick, clean and polite, management checks in and is watching closely
Prices are slightly above average, but worth it I feel
Choose from meat or meatless, booth, table, large or small parties
The artwork in the facility is mesmerizing. If for no other reason go to look at the photography at least once.
park in the back, towards the medical center side of the building, parking in the front is scarce.
Be sure to have the hot and sour soup, as it is probably the best in the city, I'm craving it right now.....
- Pros: Easy access via Rainbow Boulevard to State line, GREAT food, photography
- Cons: going to be packed during the week for lunch, get there at 11AM if you want to eat.
Great food selection!

My boyfriend and I love it here. It's a good time creating your own entrees. There's a great selection of foods to choose from and combine. Service is great and FAST - hardly no waiting and they always have a great drink special.
- Pros: Great all the way around!
great food

My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend and were looking for some good chinese food. We were told about Genghis Kahn. We found the place pretty easily even though its on a side street. The mongolian grill selection was awesome, tons of different meats and veggies. Also tons of sauses and they have posted a couple different ways to make sauses they recommend. Its all you can eat which is great. The wait staff was friendly and right there with a full drink just before ours ran out. We will definitly be back when we are back in town.
- Pros: great food, great atmosphere
Make Your Day...

Eat at Genghis Kahn! This is the best Mongolian Barbeque I've had, certainly the best in town. The food is fabulous...and you get to pride yourself on the fact that that has something to do with your choice in ingredients and putting the sauce together before handing it off to the chefs to cook! The ambience is cool with just the right blend of upscale urban chic, laid back contemporary casual, and nice photography reminding you that it IS about Mongolia. Come with a BIG appetite!
- Pros: Great food, Unique, Fun experience
Embark on a culinary adventure where you choose the ingredients and the chefs do all the work.

The Scene
Despite the cavernous space with high ceilings, brick walls and hardwood floors, the atmosphere doesn't suffer from the festive sound of people having a good time. Original artwork by local artists and photos of China and Tibet add to the ambiance.
The Food
Select from a buffet of raw food: 20 veggies, a variety of meats and seafood, noodles and an assortment of sauces. Pile it high and hand it to one of the diligent barbecue cooks. They pop it onto the sizzling grill, turn it, scoop it and hand it back to you, steamy and ready to eat. The menu offers a nice array of traditional Chinese dishes, including an ample selection of vegetarian specialties. General Tso's Chicken and the Red Emerald Shrimp tend toward the fiery, while the Crispy Pineapple Lemon Chicken is sweetly piquant.
