Beverly Hills Salon in Prairie Village, KS by Kristi M. at InsiderPages

Wow.....is a great word to describe this salon. From the moment you walk in until the second you walk out, you are pampered. How about enjoying a glass of wine while you wait for your stylist? You don't just get your hair washed...they have a person who is a scalp massage therapist that will wash your hair. 100% relaxation!!! Up to date stylists, very professional! I have seen news anchors in there getting their hair done. Very nice salon! High priced, but you'll feel like a million bucks when you walk out of there....guranteed! It's like being in Beverly Hills!
front desk FAILURE
by Peggyjane at Citysearch
I want to start off by saying that its hard to find the perfect Massage Therapist. I have been searching for a while and found a great one at Bijin. Angela's gentle pressure was so soothing and relaxing. Its just what I needed after my knee surgeries. I was worried she would go too deep, but she took the time to assess my situation and use the kind of pressure I wanted. I wanted to rebook naturally. After my massage I had to deal with a horrible front desk experience. The snotty girl at the front couldnt get me out of there fast enough. I felt like a number. Sara and friends were just so stuck up as if I was the last person they wanted to deal with. I spent plenty of money. You would think the people taking the money would be thankful instead of put upon! I am considering taking my business elsewhere.
- Pros: Great Massage
- Cons: Snotty Front Desk
Not the same salon
by runnerkc at Citysearch
Long time customer who can give a solid opinion. Bijin has never been the same since they moved from Main Street in Kansas City, MO. They have expanded more than once and prices just go up and service doesn't follow the price. The front desk is so annoying and they don't even recognize your name when you call or try to schedule an appointment. The owners need to realize there are many salons out there that cut and color just as well for less and better customer service. I haven't decided if I will ever go back after 14 years.
- Pros: Parking
- Cons: Price and Price
Awesome Salon, I Really Disagree with Some of the Other Reviews
by MeJeKC at Citysearch
I really disagree with all the negative reviews given to this salon. I think Bjiin is a great salon...better than that, exceptional. I am in no way prissy and was expecting, well, perhaps a stuck-up environment. Not so. Nobody there has been anything but extremely polite and friendly to me. Every time I go there I am greeted warmly and welcomed back. I have had both salon and spa services done there. I always get an awesome cut and color there...every time (Samantha). I honestly believe that nobody else in KC could do as good of a job with my hair. I also go there now and then for a massage to relieve my work stress (which I highly recommend) and it is such a great and relaxing experience. By 'experience' I really mean it is one. From the hot tea and relaxing environment to the steam shower afterwards, it could not be any more relaxing. I've been to many salons in KC and I am extremely happy with Bijin. You must give Bijin a shot.
- Pros: ambience, skill of stylists, friendliness, evening and weekend appointments, the experience as a whole - a great place to go and get away for an hour or 2
- Cons: don't expect it to be cheap, but it is very worth it
I wish I didn't have to even give it one star!!

I'll try to make a long story short. My family and I chipped in and got a $150 gift certificate for my aunt who lives 2 hours North. Soon after she went into the hospital. Once she recuperated, she called more than once and tried to get in when she was in town for shopping, etc., but was unsuccessful. Then when she tried to use it another time, she was told it was expired. She gave it to me and told me I was welcome to it if I could get them to change their mind. I called and a VERY rude girl at the front desk said they don't except expired cards. I asked to leave a message for the manager and she called me back almost two weeks later. She tried to make me feel very lucky that they would honor $50 of the $150 we spent. I went in and got some product since I had just had an appointment with my favorite stylist (Hilary at Medusa). The product didn't work for me and when I went to return it, they wouldn't even exchange it!! Each person that I dealt with was very condescending and snooty. With a fake smile, they would tell me they couldn't help me. Terrible customer service - no make that ZERO customer service. Bad policies and not nice people to carry them out. I don't know about you, but I want to spend my money with nice people go out of their way to treat their customers right! I didn't even make it past the front desk!!!!!
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: Rude, snooty staff
Worst ever - deserves a negative star
by seriouschocoholic at Citysearch
My whole experience was terrible at this place. It is supposed to be one of the best spas in the city, but don't let the decor fool you. RUN AWAY before you let them touch you, if you can even tolerate the receptionist. I don't know what to say other than I received the worst haircut and absolutely NO customer service, other than a backhanded compliment on my necklace. Really, don't bother. I went to another salon later that I found on citysearch and am totally happy now.
- Pros: nice building - that's it
- Cons: EVERYTHING else about this place
Chloe ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally......someone that knows how to give a decent haircut in this city. I've been through just about every stylist in Kansas & Missouri. The prices are comparable to what you would pay in a more metropolitan demographic, but my cut is stylish & se*y and I don't leave the salon looking like a conservative housewife from Johnson County.
As for the front desk, I've never had anything but a pleasant experience. I'm greeted kindly when I enter the salon and I'm always given a warm goodbye. It's a busy salon/spa. There's a lot of interaction and a ton of services, not to mention excellent people watching. It's refreshing to step into a busy, professional, big city feel business.
- Pros: Chloe & Co
- Cons: I can't think of any
Never got beyond the front desk!! Horrible experience
by margykc at Citysearch
Horrible experience. Terrible, rude front desk staff. Seem to have forgotten that the business is customer driven. Definitely would never go there again.
- Pros: Never really got to see any.
- Cons: Rude front desk staff.
hmmm....

Overpriced for a lopsided haircut and a foil where my roots were showing about 1/4 of an inch. This was with a 'master' stylist. I just didn't go back.
My first & last visit . . .
by jayhawkstephanie at Citysearch
The first available time they had was 5 weeks later. When I finally arrived, my husband dropped me off & arranged to come back & pick me up several hours later.I changed into my robe & waited. I was then informed by the massage therapist that she wouldn't be able to do my massage. The staff couldn't arrange anything different -- saying, "sorry, we just can't do you today, you'll have to reschedule". They did not offer me any other service. I had to walk home & sit on my front step for 2 hours waiting for my husband to come home. This place is not worth the time & effort. They do not care about your time & the effort it takes to try & utilize their "services". They are overpriced compared to all the other spas in town & offer no additional value to justify the cost. I recommend Persona!
- Cons: Expensive, Waste of time, no customer service
high end spa
by bchristopher at Citysearch
not what you would expect from the location. Very hip and very nice spa. Feels more like a spa in chicago or New York. The services are top notch. From the facials to the massages to the waxing, all great. Highly recommend.
- Pros: good services, easy parking, great atmosphere
- Cons: little pricey
