"Capital Grill in the Burbs"

We normally go to Capital Grill on the Plaza, however it was raining so we (4) decided to try CC's. What a pleasant surprise. It was a Saturday evening, we were told it was a 40 minute wait, so we headed to the bar. Great wine list!!! We were having such an enjoyable time in the bar, we forfeited our first seating, and waitend another 1/2 hour to be sat. Great Steaks. Better than Capital Grill, and it is not ala carte like Capital Grill. A bit expensive, but worth the price is you want a good steak, a nice atmosphere, a friendly staff, and the most amazing spinage made with Zambuca!!! We have since been back, and had a great experience the second time as well.

Food and Service have GONE DOWN HILL in the past 60 days

We're dining out a lot as our kitchen is receiving a total make-over. While we enjoyed CC's in the past, our last two visits (we gave them the benefit of the doubt after one bad experience) have been totally unacceptable. The service has declined considerably, they appear to be changing the way some of the items are prepared, and the entire atmosphere is now rushed. As an example, there is the ususal wait for a table - even when there are unoccupied tables sitting idle - the food coming out of the kitchen included the salad and the entree in space of about 3 - 4 minutes. One isn't given the opportunity to enjoy the salad before being asked if you're through with it (even though there was a fork of salad in my hand and I had only taken a couple of bites) so that they can serve the entree. The management just doesn't seem to care - they don't respond to personal correspondence. They just have a poor attitude. There are too many other good restaurants to waste your time and money on an establishment that displays this attitude towards their customer's enjoyment of their dining experience.

• Pros: The food used to be great - but has gone downhill in the last 30 days
• Cons: The attitude of the management

CC's Broiler

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened. We love the food, but last night I ordered my regular...Steak Sinatra. It came with battered fried asparagus (bad move on thier part) and halfway through the meal, realized there was no portabella mushroom. So, they changed the whole format of the dish and kept the name. I am sure many people will order this dish and find it changed. I wish the waiter knew this and passed it on. Still, great food.

• Pros: salad and potato came with the steaks
• Cons: bring a sweater if you sit under a vent in the summer

I ate at CC's City Broiler with my friends last night and had an amazing meal. The restaurnt is beautiful, with white linen table clothes and lots of wine bottles. I had maybe the best steak of my life. Our waiter was cool... and very professional. Thanks Cliff! We were able to relax yet still have a great meal. Best dinner I've had in awhile. It was worth the drive. I recommend it highly

I dined at CC Broiler's last Sunday with my wife. The group of seven that I assumed also reviewed this restaurant were in the bar. I was shocked to have to listen to the profanity come from the host of this group.

The manager told US that reservations are only taken when there is a group of 10 or more. There were a few open tables but they were being held for a "family" of about 12. The manager was very pleasent, although a little hurried but the steaks were great as always. We are happy there is a restaurant like this in our own neiborhood without having to drive all the way down town. I guess there is no pleasing some people! They should eat at home and let the rest of us with a little class enjoy an evening out. Hey pal....There was a wait for a reason.

We arrived at 7:00 pm and were told it would be a 45 min. wait. We went into the bar sat for 10 minutes before bartender acknowledged us. Took 10 min. more to get our cocktails. After waiting 50 minutes and seeing several empty tables, we asked for the host. When asked about the wait, he responded he was doing the best he could. When asked about a table that had been empty the entire time we waited, he said it was reserved. We commented we were told they didn't take reservations and he said it was being held for the family. Other tables were open but they made no effort to seat us or communicate they had a problem. Cocktails were good but unfriendly welcome was enough we went elsewhere for dinner. Johnson County has many great restaurants that you don't have to accept this kind of poor service.
