Great music, bad food. If you are looking for grub, move along. If you are searching for great jazz, you are in the right place.

Great Music, Great Atmosphere!. I've been there multiple times and the wait staff was always friendly. They have live music every night and it is the best jazz club in Kansas City. Make sure to call ahead and make reservations for the weekend because it can get pretty packed.

poor food quality and service. We had never been to Jardine's before but thought it may a nice weeknight place to go for dinner and light entertainment. What we found was a crowded little bar with poor food, slow service, and high prices. The appetizers were average at best, the main meals (Salmon – blackened and lemon, Chicken Marsala) were worse. The chicken breast was a very small portion and the Marsala sauce tasted almost like canned gravy. The Salmon, both the blackened and lemon were very strong tasting and had a texture like they had been frozen too long. In all a very poor experience, we won’t be returning.

Music Good - Food AWFUL. Went to Jardines for a Birthday celebration, We had made reservations 3 weeks in advance. Once we arrived our table had been given away (we were 10 minutes early). once we did get a table it took 1.5 hours for the food and 40 minutes for drinks. Waitress did her best but the food we did get was absolutely unedible. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was a dry piece of chicken with a slice of ham and a slice of Kraft cheese on top. My husband ordered the Chicken parmigana and it seriously looked horrible and according to him tasted the same. It was just an awful experience and the only good part was the music which is always good, IF we ever return we will only go for the music and not the food for sure.

Count your change. Be careful of that dark haired bartender. She tried to short change me right off the bat. Music was good. Good crowd tightly packed. I have to agree about the wait staff.

Out of state?. Don't go here. Stuck up wait staff, while slightly attractive the air of "exclusiveness" was unnecessary. If you do attend, the music will be grand - best live stuff I've heard in quite awhile. Don't bother tipping for the service, keep the music in mind. Have not been in for dinner, menu looked awesome.

Exceptional Food. The food was exceptional. I had the mediterranean chicken and pasta and would have went there just for the meal. The serving size was good, but it was pricey. The music was great, I loved Ida McBeth!! The band was on point and together. I had called a couple of days before to make reservations for 9 and they somehow wrote down 8 so we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table to open up. Next time I will double check the reservations. BUT, Overall it was a pleasant experience. We will be going again.

Live Jazz, Great Atmosphere, better than adequate service, wonderful ambiance. Many trips from Minneapolis to Kansas City and this is a mandatory stop. Food is better than average, the food, wine and drink prices are comparable to other good music venues and the atmosphere is definitely romantic. There is no dance floor but I asked the owner if we could dance by our table and was told of course you can if the music moves you and it always does. Slow sensual dancing by our table to excellent music has always provided me and my lady a wonderful means to feel the music between courses. The wait staff has always been attentive and professional.

My lady and I have never been disappointed and so long as the experience is what we have come to expect at what we consider to be one of the top 5 locations where we go to hear Jazz when we travel throughout the US we will always include this stop while we are in Kansas City and we make that trip 5-8 times each year.

The walking proximity to Country Club makes for a wonderfully romantic weekend date. A hand in hand evening stroll window shopping, enjoying the street performers, and people watching in the Plaza, Dinner, Dancing and Fine Music at Jardines and desert to end the night from the Cheese Cake Factory before returning to our hotel. It really DOES'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT.
