Good Pizza...TERRIBLE SERVICE and MGT - LIBERTY
by bwilton at Citysearch
Pizza at the Liberty location is the same Minsk's you know and love. However, and this is huge - the services is so bad we just cannot tolerate it any more. We have been going there since the Liberty location opened and it's so painful. Just this week, we arrived before the Friday crowd, around 5:00. Place was about 25% filled so we thought no problem. Ordered and waited 50 minutes for a large pizza. Then it was delivered to 3 other tables by mistake. The 3rd table, started to dish it up and discovered it was not their pizza. The waitress came and got it thinking she would just slide in onto our table. I about made a scene over that. I demanded a fresh pizza. So another 20 minutes go by. Then when we did get our pizza to us, said the manager would comp the meal. Ok fine.
However when our check arrived we had only a 25% discount!!! And the manager never stopped by as promised. I asked to see him (Chip is the Liberty manager name, at least for this week) and we were told he was very busy.
We just cannot stand this place any longer. Just trying to get the word out before others in Liberty give them any more business.
We were so excited to see a Minsky's open but honestly, we will never return to that location.

I hear from several friends that there is a bar tender there that will serve great drinks . She moves between Liberty and Zona Rosa. If the time is right look her up ,
Liberty Location- Great Food- TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT & SERVICE
by Liberty64068 at Citysearch
New Minsky's in Liberty has the same great food, but has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and EVEN WORSE MANAGEMENT.
I was happy to learn this past summer that one of my favorite pizza places in KC was opening in my community (Liberty). I immediately took notice of the set-up as a "Sports Bar" (something that Liberty needed), and had intentions on becoming a "regular" customer and of designating Minsky's as our new hang-out where my friends and I would get together a couple of times per week to watch games and enjoy a beverage or two. However, after spending several evenings per week there over the last couple of months, I have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of customer service and poor management. THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT AT LIBERTY MINSKY'S ARE JUST TERRIBLE. The staff is obviously un-trained and the Manager, Art, lacks in professionalism and management skills. After frequently the place at least 8 times in the last month, I'M NOT SURE THAT I WILL EVER GO BACK.
- Pros: Location; Food Quality
- Cons: Management; Customer Service
Bad Service, Bad Management, BAD OWNERSHIP!!!
by cc222 at Citysearch
The Liberty location sucks! "Art" the so called manager has poor communication skills, is rude, and talks to customers like they're his homey. When you call around asking for the owner "Fred" at the other 3 locations that he owns, they say sure hold on, then lie and tell you he's not available. "Art" tells you "good luck with that!" when you ask how to get ahold of this "Fred". Every time we order from Minsky's in Liberty, something goes wrong. Our pizza was delivered 1 hour and 30 min. after ordered and everything was cold. Another time they overcharged us, then comped us, but when we asked for our comp a month later, said it couldn't be found in the computer. Another time, we went in for pick up and they cooked the wrong pizza. Also, the chic answering the phone is prob. 18, and calls everyone "hon", which is obnoxious. Overall, they have ruined my experience, and it was my fav. pizza before. I will NEVER buy their pizza, from any location in the northland, now knowing the owner doesn't even want to correct things by talking with his consumers!
- Pros: Good Pizza
- Cons: Everything Else
If you enjoy burnt pizza - Minsky's is the place
by dhart2 at Citysearch
I ordered carry out at the Main Street location- was put on hold for several minutes - when I mentioned that to the order taker they got snippy. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I failed to check the pizza before I left the store (silly me assuming they would not put out a bad pizza) I got home and the pizza was burnt to a crisp - dark brown/black cheese and crust. Called back and talked to Jason the manager who was very unconcerned said I could bring it back - yea, right, like sending your steak back ! The point is, where is their quality control, do they not have eyes and see that the pizza is below standards? They don't mind charging top dollar for it. Never again !
- Pros: supposed to have good ratings
- Cons: highly overrated
I'm surprised!
by AnnMM at Citysearch
I'm really surprised at the negative reviews about Minsky's. I've been a Minsky's lover for 30 years. I've never had a bad experience as far as service or quality. I usually go to the NE Barry Rd. location next to North Oak Trfwy. I love the Jumbo Combo. It's loaded with quality ingredients and their thin crust is great. I've been to the NW Barry Rd. location and the one on Main street. Never had a negative experience. Since I live in Liberty I'm thrilled to see a store going into the old Ponderosa steak house. It'll be great to have them in town. Keep up the great work and the great pizzas!
- Pros: Always consistantly good.
- Cons: none
Do **NOT** Get Delivery From Minsky's
by PhilGr at Citysearch
Trust me I've been ordering pizza at least once a week for 6 years (bachelor) and Minsky's delivery is the WORST. Do **NOT*** get delivery from this place, which is expensive to begin with.
Hey -- don't take my word for it. After I tried to point out to their driver that (once again) a 70 minute wait is unacceptable, he told me frankly: "Go to Pizza Hut."
Take his advice!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Room temperature pizza, 2 hours later
As close to gourmet pizza as the Big Mac is to gourmet steak
by Erinfaer at Citysearch
I am sure that Minsky's was fabulous at some time, but , whether they are covering reduced quality ingredients or a new chef has confused Italian with cheap Tex-Mex, Minsky's now features one meat flavor--SPICY. If you don't want fiery pepperoni or blazing hot meatballs, stay away from this restaurant! HINT MINSKY'S: Gourmet is about a symphony of subtle flavors, not one overpowering spice! UGH!
- Pros: friendly, efficient staff
- Cons: overspiced, too hot
Phone service sounded strange, but I found out why.
by leopardson at Citysearch
When I ordered over the phone, it was hard to communicate with the person on the other side, as it sounded like some crappy band was playing right by the restraunt. I assumed the person must have been listening to music carelessly or something...when I got there, as it turns out, there was some crappy band playing near by with extremely loud music. Since Minsky's is in the river market, it is not surprising that on a Saturday night some band was playing in the river market.
The service was a bit slow, but being as it was a Saturday night, you'd have to be pretty stupid to expect lightning fast service.
Pizza was excellent, definately worth the wait.
The hardest and most annoying part was parking. :)
- Pros: Excellent pizza, they still got my order right over the phone with a loud band playing in the background, excellent pizza. Oh yeah, and excellent pizza.
- Cons: Parking was a mess...but it was the River Market on a Saturday night, what do you expect?
I like this joint
by TadKnockers at Citysearch
I think this is the best pizza in KC. It is a local company, support would be nice.
If you look in the phone book you will see how to get a free bread.
I wish Minsky's would get their act together and post their nutritional facts somewhere.
