If you hate your dog, feed it Gates!.
A disgrace to KC BBQ and what Gates used to be.
My beef-and-a-half was 1/2 meat, 1/2 fat and 1/2 gristle. I took it to the counter and told the manager. He replaced it with a beef-and-a-half that was 3/4 fat and 3/4 gristle.
Skip this clip joint and go to Brobeck's at 107th and Roe. I don't want the crap Gates serves giving KC BBQ a bad name.

Too Many Better Options To Eat Here. There is a quaint KC tradition of stopping by Gates on your way to a Royals game. I think that is an appropriate pairing. Gates batting well below 250 and almost everybody else is better. From the screaming order-takers to the lousy, fat-laden meat, Gates just doesn't offer a BBQ lover anything worth stopping for. Zarda's is just as bad BBQ, but the ordering process is sane and the meat is lean. "Hi, may I help you?" yes, stop calling yourself a BBQ joint.
