Best Japanese Steakhouse in KC. I've been coming to this restaraunt for many years and is my families destination of choice for Birthday dinners, family gatherings, etc. Service is excellent and food is delicious every time. It is also a very unique experience with the chefs cooking right in front of you asking you along the way how you would like your food to be cooked for and also puts on a good show along the way.

They were probably not intentionally trying to yell at you, it is difficult to manage a party of 14 in their little lobby area and were just trying to be heard. Also for the seating, they can't pick up and move their giant grill tables to accomidate every party size. Each chef serves a table of 8 and thats just the way it is. Otherwise one chef trying to fix 14 orders on one grill would make your dinner take a couple hours to get prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant for you again before you write it off as worst restaraunt ever from 1 experience.

Horrible Service Ruins Night. I visited Hibachi with a group of very polite seniors in high school before a school dance. We made 7:30 reservations for 14 people. They warned us we had to be on time. We when showed up at 7:20, they immediately started yelling like drill sargents, saying "where is your entire group?! Line up! Where are the other four?!" We calmly remarked that they were close behind, driving in a seperate car. We still, however, got the mean-glares from hosts and who I believe was the manager! When we finally got everyone together (still early!) they split us into 8 and 6 at two separate tables! This was NOT part of the reservation which we had made many weeks in advance! They sat the first of us six a little after 7:30, and the others waited until at least 7:50 until they were seated! It was not professional, and we were treated like children the entire night (probably because we were there for a school dance) but I assure you that we were polite, not rowdy, and an easy group. The waitress clearly favored the two older adults sitting at our grill and we say without refills on water for nearly the entire dinner. The food was fair, but the experience had already ruined it for me. In the end, we all paid our bills with a generous tip, later to realize the tip was included (unmarked, just included in the overall total.) Needless to say, we were upset. I would never recommend this restaurant.

TRY ME. This is the best Japanese food I've ever had, This tastes like authentic Japanese food. They actually cook the food in front of you, and put on a little show. Its AWESOME! Just try it, I promise you, you won't regret it. My family has been going there for over 10 years now. However it gets crowded on Friday nights. Reservations are a good idea. Thank you for your time...Oh and try the Ginger sauce.
