Not worth the hassle – I'm going to make this as short and sweet as possible.
- Staff is unprofessional & lacks customer service. Can I get a smile when I drop that much cash for a gown?
- The associate who measured me seemed like she barely knew what she was doing.
- They don't have all of their color swatches available in store. So be aware of that unless you want a primary color.
- Was told 6-8 weeks for my gown to be ready. I have been waiting 4 months to no avail. They really have no good reason for the delay and weren't empathetic about the delay either. Good thing I ordered way in advance.
- Did I mention unprofessionalism and lack of customer service?
- The best thing I can say about Amore' is they have a beautiful store.
Great – I went in with never having tried on a gown and Kim the owner was wonderful. She helped with the first one which is the one that was gorgeous with my coloring and helped me with finding the perfect veil. Even suggested I go up a size so that it could be altered to fit me better since the one I tried on was almost a perfect fit but in some areas it would not have worked after being altered.
From the beginning she told me how the layaway worked and remembered me months after I picked it up. The shop's customer service was awesome and I may go back if I decide to go with a different gown.
I would recommend this anyone and found out that a friend's daughter also got her gown from them.
Ok experience, wouldn't recommend – Although I am happy with my dress, I would not recommend my own friends to go there. I think what they lack is professionalism and good customer service. They were far too casual for how much money you spend at the store. I also almost had a panic attack because they weren't answering my calls - I thought the place had shut down! No, turns out they just moved locations and couldn't be bothered to tell me and they still had my dress! After that, I hurriedly took care of the fitting six months ahead of schedule, since I had already paid ten times on that what I should have. They made me pay TWICE for my alterations, because I did not have the receipt from when I paid for it in a grouping with my dress, veil, and tiara. I paid double or triple what I should have for alterations, but I was too nervous (what with them having my DRESS) to hassle them about it.
Also, I think they are shady in that they said my tiara had a "special" type of crystal, but AFTER paying for it when I finally came out of the clouds to look at it...Cheap, cheap, cheap. I think they take advantage of brides who are so excited to find dresses they will make you pay three times what you should. Admittedly, I was naive and inexperienced when I went in and they do have to make a living, but that's no excuse for such severe overpricing. I bought the rest of my wedding apparel from David's Bridal because I just did NOT feel safe ordering from them again.
If they had treated me fairly and professionally, I would easily have recommended my friends going there, but now I warn them AWAY from it.
Best bridal shop ever!!!!!!!!!!! – I was referred to Kim by my two sisters, They both had had Kim help them with their weddings, both just loved her. I would have to say that I was the typical Bridezilla and Kim was so patient and helpful. She even changed my flowers, because I changed my mind. My flowers were absolutely beautiful. She helped me make every detail perfect. Unlike the chain stores, Kim did not rush me to make decisions and showed that she cared about me as an individual. She puts a lot of love into her business and it shows. Thanks Kim for helping to make my wedding day special!

Best Bridal Shop in the KC Area! – I have a beautiful daughter who is very "fashion forward", creative and always designing things. Since high school she has been drawing designs of what she wanted her wedding to be like and she is VERY particular. She's a size 2 and looks beautiful in everything (that's my motherly opinion) but she never quite likes anything she tries on. Clothes shopping is not a pleasant experience, so to say that I was less than excited to begin the wedding dress shopping is a huge understatement. I prepared myself for a LONG, tedious adventure.
HOWEVER, on the FIRST day of dress shopping, AFFORDABLE BRIDAL was the second store we stopped at. The owner, Kim, greeted us almost immediately and hit it off with my daughter right away. She was able to share my daughter's "vision" for what she wanted in a wedding dress. I personally have no sense of fashion and design. But Kim understood immediatetly what my daughter was looking for.
My daughter wanted a vintage type wedding - she was especially interested in the lace and beading of the dress she would wear. I was amazed to watch Kim pull things off the rack and talk possibilities with my daughter. The dress my daughter selected was a size 12 halter type dress with a fairly long train (not remotely what she had envisioned) - I was absolutely amazed as Kim went to work pinning and tucking and talking about what they could do. I couldn't grasp the vision but my daughter and Kim were clearly on the same page.
We bought the dress and made an appointment to meet with the lady who does alterations. Bottom line: They took that size 12 dress and turned it into a size 2 sweetheart neckline, strapless dress with a small train that perfectly matched my daughters vision for her wedding day. ALL those alterations were only about $200. (Another store we had gone to wanted almost $200 to hem a wedding dress).
The payment plan was perfect for us - easy payments of $50 every 2 weeks. The dress was affordable and beautiful. The service was beyond compare.
Kim was wonderful to work with - helping us with the birdcage veil, and all the million other details of the wedding. We are forever thankful and highly recommend Affordable Bridal to every bride to be!
BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD! ORDERED MY DRESS TODAY!! – I went to affordable bridal KC today, thinking that this time would be like every other time that I had walked into a bridal store. I was a little upset at first because I wansn't helped very promptly. I am a bigger girl and the woman who owns the store, KIM understands where I am coming from because she is PHAT too!!! She proceded to inform me that any dress in the store could be altered to include what I wanted so I needed to "think outside the box" I was informed by another store that I would have to blind purchase a dress I liked and if it didn't work I wouldn't get my money back. Kim was very helpful I tried on about 7 dresses that I liked but were not "the one" Kim was with the me the whole time. She then began to look in the back for things I might like better, she asked me to trust her and go outside my comfort zone, I did, and I found the dress that I am going to wear on MY day!! She explained the billing policy to me, which was $50.00 every two weeks with only TWENTY dollars to hold the dress, other places I had to pay 25% down for a dress. Her dresses are afordable, she is lovely and doesn't tire of taking off and putting on dresses till you find one that is perfect. I am going to buy my bridesmaid dresses here as well. On the last review the bride stated that she had no idea of the payment policy, they have you sign forms stating they will resell your dress if you don't pay and what the payments will be!!! That bride just didn't read what she was signing, and she should not blame Affordable bridal KC!!!
STOLE MY MONEY/DRESS....DO NOT DEAL W/THIS STORE!! – yes, I would NOT go to Bridal bee hive......they have basically STOLE my money/dress, was NEVER told that you have to make a payment every 2 weeks or they'll RESELL your dress, and you won't get the money back that you have already paid!! So she is getting the money that you have already paid PLUS she resells it if you can't make your payment so she get MORE money. She is VERY shady... says she tried to call me several times, I NEVER got a phone call from her, and you would think she'd leave a message if she tried to call, but never had any of those either. I don't trust her, and I would def. recommend going somewhere else.!!!
worst ever – ok wanting to give money localy insted of a chain dress shop we went to bridal bee hive in independence mo for the bridesmaids dresses four our wedding at first all is well found a dress in the maid of honers size that worked well paid for it and was told we will have it in in 2 weeks ok great still leaves 5 weeks till the wedding was impressed (lied to)enough to come back a few days later after ordering her dress to get our flower girls dress caught them on sale great was told they could add red roses to the dress to mach our wedding and it would be done about the same time as the other dress two + weeks later our maid of honer gets a call saying that dress (she tried on that fit)doesn't come in her size so after calling to figure out what is going on i am also told that my flower girl dress wont b done for 6 more weeks a full week+ after my wedding date so after demanding a refund we drive up there and get checks made out to us when we payed with cash then lied to us where the bank is so we couldn't find it till after the lobby closed now it will bee a week before we can go dress shopping again and its really close to the wedding date don't trust a thing people here tell you
