Easy easy easy – I am using a Clear mobile usb modem right now and it rocks. I bought the $40 a month high speed deal. Month to month , no contract. Easy Easy Easy. I think it can be particular about where you are in room or whatever. Kind of like a cell phone.
Cancelled my Clear – I just canceled my Clear service for the same reasons that Lani mentions. Since I work on the Internet all day, I CAN’T lose internet when a butterfly passes by. And I’m supposedly surrounded by two towers.
Lani: I called EVERY DAY and complained about my speed until they finally let me out of my contract.
No Service Failures – I have only had the service for a few days but I can say that Clear internet service has been awesome. I love the fact that I can get online without having to search for a hotspot or using my cellphone to surf that net when I am not home.
The speed of the service is decent and I have not experienced any outages or service failures. The installation was easy for my home computers I just swapped out my cable modem and installed the new home wireless modem to the router and the new laptop that I purchased from Clear was already active when I turned on the computer for the first time.
slowing connection – Clear internet services' only downside is that they seem to drop your connection about once every couple of days or so, but that's about it. Ping times aren't the best in the world, but hover around 70-100ms, so I can't complain too much. I'm not a gamer, so I can live with 1/10th of a second lag.
I plugged in my CLEAR Wi-Fi laptop modem – Last week I was at the Chicago Westin for a company sales meeting. In room Wi-Fi was $12.95/day which my company does not pay for, then I plugged in my CLEAR Wi-Fi laptop modem, not knowing if they were in Chicago yet...BAM! I was connected.
Horrendous Service – I’ve been a clearwire user for almost two years, thank god it’s almost over, HORRIBLE service, and of course you gotta love yur internet being throttled….wow I love that feature.
I've had clear for a couple of months now in Atlanta. Service works perfect. I had a rep come to my house because I had expressed wanting Clear in my home but Clear had told me they do not have coverage there. He came out and plugged his modem in and I had 3 bars. The 3 bars since have varied between 8-12 mbps. This is faster than my Comcast with Turbo Boost. I decided a week later to add on to their "pick 2" they called it with the mobile modem. As long as I'm in coverage it works great. I guess everyone is different it looks from all the responses but a few other people in my subdivision have it and have no problem. They all get 3 bars too
