Prettty poor on all counts.. I was visiting KC and wanted to go to one of my old all time favorite restaurants (Strouds). It had always been pricey for a chicken shack, but the chicken had in days of yore been good enough to justify it. This however was not a good experience. On top of service issues (slow and uncooperative), that are not worth discussing more than that, the food was as others have said (And to my surprise) pretty poor. The Fried chicken was very dry and bland.. I certainly never remembered bland before. I can say it was the second worse fried chicken I have had in years. (The worse was my own when I was trying something new, and that got thrown out.)

I rated it 1 star based on food and quality of service / food received for this price.

Great Value and Great Food. We found Strouds South by chance... after not being able to get into another restaurant. What a find. Very helpful and friendly staff, delicious food served family style. The chicken was the best I've had and the sides were very tasty!. You won't leave hungry and the prices are very reasonable. We will visit Strouds again next time we come to KC!!!
