If I could give no stars I would. As others have stated DO NOT RENT FROM LATTA REAL ESTATE. We rented from them for 2yrs and when we decided to move out everything changed. A month after moving out we received a invoice for over $900 for bogus stuff such as: repainting the concrete front steps, removing a garden hose from the back yard (it was theirs from when we moved in), removal of dust on ceiling fan, repainting the whole house because of scuff marks on the wall (we tried to wipe them off but they used a flat paint and it was washing off so we called Jenny and she said it was no problem). We were only going to be charged half the rent for the last month so I called and talked to Jenny to ask if they could just take it out of our $1,025 deposit and she said sure that would be no problem. On the invoice it states because we didn't pay the last month rent we forfeited our deposit. I called numerous times and left messages for Jenny and never received any calls back. A month after receiving the first invoice we received another one and now the total is over $2000. Called again and left messages but still have not heard from them. Do not rent from them unless you enjoy getting screwed.…

Scam artists. We moved across the country, and arrived to our rental house to find random furniture left over, and NO refrigerator! (which had been promised) We called and they said they'd get it to us, for 3 days we kept our food in a cooler with ice until finally someone brought it. We lived there for a year and a half, were ideal tenants, never late on rent, making improvements, etc.

When we moved we left the etagere and large dresser in the basement, as they had been there when we moved in. The house was spotless and in great condition.

A few weeks later, we were shocked to receive a bill for over 800 dollars for various damages (stuff like window screens, which were in the same condition as move-in and documented) and haul-away charges for THEIR furniture.

It's been 2 years and we still have not resolved it or gotten our deposit back. DON'T rent from these guys.…

Slumlords in Sheep's Clothing. We recently rented a home that Latta Real Estate manages for a private owner. After being shown the home we asked several questions about the property, none of which the agent could answer. In fact, none of the agents I ever made inquiries to about this home had a clue. As if they had never actually seen it in person. MANY maintenance issues were not taken care of upon move in. And once they had our first month and deposit and the lease signed, they basically cut off all communication with us. Leaving us to only speak to the receptionist, who, by the way, is rude, condescending, and her nasty tone of voice is way out of line and unprofessional, and that's just when she's answering simple questions.

Their rent prices are enticing, especially in this economy, and they talk a good talk. But rent from them with caution and don't expect much.

Don't be fooled by the fancy exterior, they're really just slumlords.…
