Reserving a room at the hotel is a first come first serve basis. You may or may not get the room you reserved or expected. The security staff is rather unprofessional. They seem to hire the youngest and lowest cost security available(college kids). The only good thing I can say is the atmosphere is pleasant and the rooms are nice. The management seems to care only about the money they can make rather than providing a fun experience. Ameristar or Harrah's are much better choices for a quality casino experience in Kansas City.

We stayed at the Argosy for our anniversary. We never go out of town and expected this to be wonderful. The first night was great. The second night was not so great. The only way that you can take liquer to your room is if they are opened at the bar and you can only take two at a time, unless you want to pay over $3.00 for one beer. Then we had a lovely neighbor who left the sterio blaring in his room while he was gone. It took customer service more than 4 hours to get it turned off. Then when we go to check out the next morning they asked us how our breakfast was, which we knew nothing about. Apparently they were going to pay for our breakfast but never bothered to tell us. Then the $50.00 security fee that we payed NEVER got returned to us. We will never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone but people we don't like.

I love Argosy. It's clean and very nice. There are lots of great restaurants, their buffet is the best of all the casinos in KC. Plus, the decor is very pretty and not tacky and over powering like other casinos.
