In Short
Since 1955, this Atlanta-based chain has welcomed an all-hours crowd of shift workers, suits, regulars and late-night partiers with comfy booths and an extensive menu of Southern-accented home-style grub. Waffles (pecan or regular) are the restaurant's most popular dish. Other breakfast favorites include porterhouse T-bone steak and eggs, country ham, and signature hash browns cooked seven ways, from smothered with onions to topped with chili or cheese. Another bargain is the bowl of chili, which comes topped with onions, ham and cheese.

I have eaten at many Waffle House locations in Colorado, Missouri, and Texas. The food, quality and service is consistant between the locations. You can always count on a good meal there. Personally I would like to see the whole chain go "non-smoking" as, quite often, they are not set up to accommodate those of us who are sensitive to smoke. I look for another location if the air is fouled too badly.

The Waffle House is greasy and dirty. The buildings are small, dingy, and look like they haven't been updated since the 1970s. The food is not any better than the setting!

It is amazing how the cook can remember the orders since there is no tickets laid out for them. The food is cooked right in front of you.
