WARNING: Pizza Imposter - it should taste like pizza..
Tastes like crackers and cheese, No Joke!
I walked into the restaurant and it seemed normal. I saw some customers being served at their tables and eating. I even met someone before I walked in the front door it said, "you've got to get here before the rush."
OMG! The pizza not only looks like bad pizza, it tastes horrible. What's worse than a round pizza being cut into squares, is that It tastes just like saltines with thin and tasteless cheese on top and some kind of red paste.
I could tell the pepperoni because it looked like and tasted right. That's all.
My warning is: Don't check it out, spend the money, or waste the time. Costco pizza is most excellent compared to Leo's. This is an honest review by someone who has had great pizza across the US.
yuck!. I have had bad pizza before, like across the street at the Generals pizza that is a hole in the wall, but it was better than Leo's. I can't imagine anyone liking that pizza. I was so excited to try it when I moved to the area and I guess I will have to continue with the chains because this is awful! Small hole in the wall and not able to purchase one piece to try and then they cut the pizza in squares. Ugh! Will not return. I rate it a negative 10 but that is not an option.
Leo's is the best! I worked there and paid for 2 years of community college (so did some of my family) on minimum wage. I know it sounds unbelievable but it is true!
Leo and Anna Marie are the best! The food is good!
Atmosphere? Well it is family owned so they do their best to keep the place nice, but that is what makes it so cool. If you want to go to a chain and eat bad pizza oin a nice restaurant, be my guest.
And to the NY poster. Such a typical snide response. There are many different styles of PIZZA, NY style, St. Louis style, Chicago style etc. Leo's is St. Louis style. Which is flat thin with provel cheese. As opposed to a
New Yorkers, are supposed to be more open minded, but the ones I know just seem to complain about the mid-west, until you ask them to explain why they don't move back!!!
Absolutely THE BEST. Leo's Pizza is by far the BEST pizza ever! My family started going here every Friday night when I was a child (now in my 20s) and it's one of my favorite childhood memories.. The pizza is loaded with toppings and lots of provolone cheese and has a nice crisp thin crust. It's definitely not your run of the mill pizza. Pop some change in the jukebox and play Pizza Pie. It's sure to get the whole restaurant singing! Great family oriented restaurant run by a great family!
My mouth is watering. Simply the best! It's a different style of pizza - but worth any drive! I live an hour away and usually drive up once a month just to satisfy my craving! It's a great family fun place - and you feel like part of the family. Get the deluxe!
IT'S THE BEST!!. My dad introduced me to Leo's pizza when I was a kid and I fell in love with it! The cheese is my favorite part....there's is always so much of it. I would recommend anyone try it...It's not like other pizza places. It has it's own original style and taste. You can't beat it!
Great example of St.Louis-style pizza!. Cracker thin crust and Provel cheese can only mean one thing . . .terrific, authentic St. Louis-style pizza. Leo's has been around forever in the Kansas City, sitting up North, quietly serving some of the best St. Louis-style pizza west of the arch. Hubby is from St. Louis and he swears Leo's is it. I can understand why folks not familiar with our own regional pizza style might be confused, even put off by the pizza. It is an acquired taste. However, if you want real St. Louis style-pizza go to Leo's, if you want an authentic NY "slice" try the Art of Pizza.
Yikes!. What a hoot..we are still talking about the time we tried Leo's! We moved here from NYC and have been searching for PIZZA...I mean real pizza. We read the reviews of Leo's and imagined maybe some old Brooklyn, NY guy might have moved here and started a great little pizzeria..maybe a jewel tucked away...a find.....A find indeed. We should have been tipped off when we saw them cutting a circle of crust out of a sheet with scissors! The sour provel worms extruded into our salad might have been another give away, but the pizza with it's overlayed squares of cheese on top, you know the kraft singles type of squares! I kid you not, but I think they were 'provel' squares. (yummy processed cheese for those not in the know). It think the good reviews are a plant. You've got to try it to believe it.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Serving three types of sandwiches, salads a selection of pizza and offers delivery and carryout.
Best Pizza in Kansas City. I have been frequenting Leo's Pizza for 17 years and I can honestly say it is the best pizza in Kansas City. The ingredients are always piled on and the cheese and thin crust make it the best. I have felt like a member of their family, although I'm not Italian! If you want an outstanding pizza experience, it is worth the drive from anywhere in Kansas City.
