North Brighton Townhouses

Actually pretty peaceful. I've lived here for 15 years, and in the last 5 years i have actually seen a dramatic drop in the mischievous behavior of the kids. Although i'm not saying there isn't any trouble making kids here, but not nearly as bad as it might have been in the past.The neighbors either keep to themselves or are very friendly and the maintenance workers are fairly friendly as well. If you need an affordable home to move into this place really isn't a terrible choice.…

I like it here! :). I have been living here for almost 2 years and I like it. I have a 3 bedroom and pay $378.00 a month. By the way, this place does not take Section 8..i'm not sure what that other person is talking about. The staff is super nice and they get their work orders done fast. There are a lot of people who live here and they keep up with maintenance. They are very picky about clean yards and clean units which keeps this place nice. They do yearly inspections of each unit. I have 2 small kids and I feel safe letting them play outside which is very important. If you are looking to move...you should check this place out!…

Lived here 4 years, great place. We've lived here in NBT for 4 years, and have had a great experience. Part of that was the particular section we lived in, as well as the good neighbors near us. This place is an eclectic mix of people, with the vast majority very nice and considerate. That said, there are definitely a few residents with some rough edges. The higher equity buy in, as well as background and credit checks keep the roughest people from moving in and causing trouble. Checking the KCMO police site, there isn't very much crime here, and we see police cars anywhere in the complex maybe 2-3 times a year. We have never felt unsafe outside anywhere in the complex, and there are usually others walking dogs, sitting outside, etc. Comparing this with other housing cooperatives, the carrying charges (rent) are much lower, but the buy in (share price) is higher. There is plenty of space for parking and plenty of green space. The only downsides are the standard paint scheme, and the drawbacks associated with townhouses (neighbors on each side if they're noisy or smoke a lot) and high rehab costs when you move out (but this is a plus when you move in, because the units are in excellent shape).…

Townhouses. The North Brighton Townhouses are not as bad as what the previous posters make them out to be. First of all, that guy was probably 6 like fifty years ago. Second, not everyone here is on welfare or Section 8. I don't believe they even take Section 8. And lastly, one of my neighbors is African American and the other is Puerto Rican. How is that racist? The only problem I have with the place is when the weather warms up, all the kids like to try to vandalize things. The only reason this place gets 4 stars. And I have lived here over 8 years.…
