The WORST Mexican restaurant in the Metro Area!. My girlfriend and I went to Guadalajara Cafe recently and were treated horribly. We were sat promptly, but then waited a good 5 minutes before any server greeted us or take our drink orders. As we were waiting to be greeted, we witnessed 2 of the wait staff argue over how the host had sat thier section, as cursing was also overheard. When finally greeted, the server was somewhat rude in his demeanor and wouldn't let us order from the lunch menu because it was on the week-end.

We ordered our selections from the entree selections, knowing full well that half of the food would go to waste. When the food arrived, our server only came back to check on how the meal once as we were finishing up.

The worst part about our experience is when we received the bill, in which it was originally provided to us with bill detail stating that it totaled $19.13, which is fine. However, I layed my credit card down for the server to run the bill, only to have it come back as the total being ran as $23.00, which meant the server gave himself his own "tip" figuring I hadn't looked at the bill detail. As he brought back my credit card slip, he didn't include the bill detail with it so I could argue his charge. WIth the horrible service that we'd recieved already having us bothered, it only sent me over the top in not wanting to make a deal of it.

If your in the mood to go to a place that provides horrible service, marginal food, and a wait staff that "cheats" your bill, Gaudalajara is the place for you.........otherwise I now consider this THE WORST restaraunt in the KC metro area that will never get any business from me again!

Best Authentic Mexican Food in Kansas City. The food is delicious and authentic and the atmosphere is unbeatable. The prices are resonable and the staff is phenominal..mmm!

Scooter. My wife and I have eaten here many times. It is always spectacular. Victor, the owner, takes personal charge of our evening, and everything is perfect. Not a thing on the menu that you shouldn't try. My highest recomendation.

This is what it's all about!!. It is not often that spicy food lovers can actually order something that is truly spicy - but this is one such place! The food is boldly and deliciously prepared. This is a higher priced mexican restaurant, but the quality of food justifies the price.

It's not your typical place that has several variations of tortilla, meat, cheese and sauce. Instead, many dished, if not most, are prepared without some sort of "shell" encasing it. And the Margarita Martini - whoa - fire up the Betty Ford bus!! Truly one of THE BEST mexican spots in KC!!

Excellent food, great ambience!. I recommend sitting at the bar when Victor is working. He is a wealth of fascinating stories about tequila and true Mexican food. He is wonderfully hospitable and charming. If you're a regular and he likes you, he'll insist on ordering for you. My favorite - Enchiladas de Camarones - enchiladas with shrimp in a white cream sauce....with a shot of Patron tequila to start you off.
