dark and cozy. Great restaurant/wine bar in Brookside. I've ate at Joe D's 3 times and it's been consistantly good. The first time we went our service wasn't the greatest, but it was forgotten because the food was fantastic and we had a great time. I've had good service the other two times I've been there and again, the food has been very good. You can expect to drop a decent amount of money when you eat there, but you don't ever feel like you didn't get your moneys worth. The people and decor there are semi formal, yet the atmosphere is very sheek and laid back. I'd highly recommend it for a date night.

A casually sophisticated setting serving European-inspired dishes and a huge selection of fine wines.. The Scene

The secluded patio seats almost as many as in the dining room and is very popular when the weather's right. Waits can be as long as a half-hour at 9pm on a Saturday. The decor indoors is spare, with a Euro-bistro flair. The crowd is predominantly upscale urban couples and wine connoisseurs.

The Food

Much of the menu rotates daily, including the soup, pizza and fish specials. Its six pages feature four pages of wines--over 200 selections ranging from $18 to $1,200 a bottle. Appetizers include the rotating suppe de pesche and the signature pasta-crust pizza. The Mediterranean greens salad is a delicious and flavorful blend of mixed greens, hearts of palm, walnuts, kalamata olives and feta cheese with a faint coating of balsamic vinaigrette. The petit filet mignon is thick, juicy, cooked to order and resting on a bed of horseradish-basil, mashed potatoes and a dried cherry-shallot demi-glace.

Joe D wake up. The staff was too busy having fun to wait on customers on my last visit.

Three attractive women smoked, showed off tatooes and made drinks with one hand (so they wouldn't have to put down the Marlboro) and provided about the worst service imaginable.

The table service was a little better but not much. Our waiter forgot both orders, came back to correct them and then brought his original mistake.

The food was good but we would rather have what we ordered.

nice patio. A large patio is the best feature of this brookside resturant. The food is over priced and nothing special. Small place - crowded and loud.
