Montanari Redefines Fine Hand-Made Jewelry. Currently located conveniently on the west side of The Plaza, I have been an ethusiastic customer of the Montanaris since their original location near 47th and Holly back in the 70s. I then follwed them to their Westport location, and then to their Country Club Plaza location which they were forced to vacate because of the current owners of the Country Club Plaza who continue to ruin a once-great shopping district. In his great wisdom and forsight, Mr. Montanari relocated to their current location just west of SW Tafficway across from JJ's Steakhouse and the soon-to-be completed retail and hotel complex currently on hold. Montanari loved his Plaza location and wanted to stay in the area.

Over the years, I have had many pieces made, stones set, repairs done, appraisals kept current, and valued a long lasting relationship with Mr. Montanari and his great staff, especially Sally and the jeweler-extrodinaire Randy. This guy can do things humanly impossible and continues to execute the original designs provided by staff and clients to a degree of craftsmanship rarely seen anyl onger in this day and age. There is NOTHING this group won't do or find a way to do. They are highly creative, friendly and fun to work with, very fair and maintain the highest standards and integrity while providing the best value and piece for your money. You will get way more bang for your buck here than at the trendy stores or even the highly overated and overpriced venerable local institutions nearby on the Plaza. You will find a fabulous inventory of pieces in their stock and literally thousands of stones to chose from should you decide to create your own special piece. No Chinese manufactured mediocre pieces here. If you are shopping for fine art jewelry, come to Montanaris. You will be delighted. If you want premanufactured junk, go to the mall or to one of the other Plaza jewelers that pale in comparison.

A treasure of a place. This little shop is really a treasure of a place. I was blown away...who knew there was such an interesting and fun really "fine" jewelry shop in KC? They design & hand make most all of the pieces offered, and they have some truely amazing things! It's really worth the trip to the Plaza area.

hand made. These peolpe can make what you want! Their slogan "hand wrought not store bought" is for real. Nice people to work with. If you have an idea they can do it. If you want help with your design they will assist you with some of the best award winning designers in the city.
