Mi Cocina has been closed for over a year

It used to be a great spot, both for food and nightlife, but questionable mgmt decisions ran the place under.

If you're looking for great Mexican, try something on Southwest Blvd, like El Pueblito, La Taqueria, or La Fonda el Taquito, or on Broadway there's Los Tules. All are fantastic!

I was a frequent visitor of Mi Cocina in Dallas, and also of the "mother ship" MIA's on Lemon in Dallas - the branch here in KC does NOT disappoint! Yes, the Boulevard has good mex, but Mi Cocina is TEX MEX at it's finest, and if you don't know the difference - by all means go back to El Maguey (are you kidding me with that one?) anyway, the food is a bit on the high side, but it's beautifully presented and the ingredients are top notch - in other words - you get what you pay for! Not to miss - the brisket tacos (brought here from Mia's) and the Tacos al Carbon - the Tostados are a treat as well!!!

Can't get enough of

I don't know where the last reviewer was at but it couldn't have been Mi Cocina. The atmosphere is great, the service is great especially once you get to know the staff. The food is excellent, not your typical tex-mex, a little more flare to it. And the margarita's are killer. I especially love the Mambo Taxi. And if the last reveiwer thought they were watered down, they either waited till their ice melted or are pretty hard core drinkers because 3 of either of these will send you on your way. I can't recommend this place enough. The best happy hour around too.
