August 13th,2012 Kansas City, Missouri.
20 minute wait to see a waitress after being seated. We had to go the bar to get our own drinks. The manager is worthless and did not respond to our complaints about no service at our table.
Order taken 45 minutes after arrival. Upon delivery of our food, the white rice had a dead fly mixed in the rice, "YOUTUBE VIDEO uploaded this morning showing the dead fly in the rice and poor service"
The manager took no pity on our table and did not respond to my complaint. Complaint made to City Health Department in writing this morning.
Filed complaint online with PF Chang's Corporate and have not received any response.
DO NOT EAT HERE!! UNLESS YOU LIKE EXTRA BUGS IN YOUR FOOD!!
Never again.....
I work on the Plaza and, hungry for Chinese today, I found myself walking over to PF Chang's for a little Sesame Chicken. I was totally under-whelmed. I refuse to give them a pass due to it being lunch-time; if you're a Plaza restaurant, then you better be prepared for a busy lunch time.
I waited 10 minutes for a waiter, and after placing my order, the soup came out fairly promptly, but was too salty to enjoy. My appetizer never made it to the table and my entree, while the correct entree, was not prepared the way I had ordered it. I was so disappointed. For as much as most people rave about PF Chang's, I'm marking it off of my list.
I have a free appetizer voucher for anyone who wants it, as I won't be going back.
Not what it used to be.
We've always loved PF Chang's but our last few experiences have not been very good. We were surprised to see several open tables when we got there last night (11/10/11). When we sat down, we had to wipe food off our chairs, and the floor was covered with food. We had one of those drop-leaf tables (converts from square to round), and food was stuck in all the crevices. We asked the hostess to reclean our table, which she did with a dry napkin.
As we ate, we watched her wipe down a few dirty tables with more dry napkins and reset then for new diners. While we were eating, the manager came by with a broom to clean up the mess underneath our table.
Food was pretty good, not great this time, but at least we didn't have to complain about the loud music this time.
All in all, we keep trying to give this place a chance because we used to love it so much. I think we're probably done.
Strictly for tourists with kids. Unless you want fast assembly line food and service with loud music and screaming kids - all combined to get you in and out in rapid speed - go to one of the other good restaurants on the Plaza. We were last here a year ago and it was a very good experience. This time, we were in the restaurant less than 50 minutes for a whole meal (which includes cocktails, sending the wrong appetizer back, and sending the cold clumpy rice back) The food was dry and tasteless. Everytime we set a fork down, the waiter wanted to know if we were ready to go. I would never go back.
Excellent!. This is my favorite restaurant in KC! The prices are fair and the food is excellent. I always make sure to order the lettuce wraps, bombpob martini, and the ??Hot scallop entree (sorry forgot the name of the entre). I have never had scallops that tasted this good! I took my husband there about a month ago and now he is hooked! A friend of mine said to go to BoLings, which is closer to where we live, but we were very disappointed. Their lettus wraps do not compare in taste, and their scallop dish was pathetic. I wish PFChangs would open a restaurant in the northland of KC!
We LOVE It!!!. My wife and I had a double date with the sister and brother-in-law. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the HOT fish, it was good but I sampled all the other entrees at the table courtesy of my family and WOW, I ordered the wrong thing. The mongolian beef and chicken dishes my family were enjoying stole the Heat from my HOT fish though it was tasty I longed for the taste of the Beef and or chicken my dinner mates were enjoying. The atmosphere was perfect and the waiter was out of this world!! We are going back as soon as we can get another excuse to celebrate something!! Give it a try it's more that worth it!!
This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites..
In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.
Boring Menu. Menu is extremely boring, and food is very lacking in flavor. I will admit, their lettuce wraps are extremely delicious appetisers, however when going to eat at a resturant such as this, you would expect to be delivered a decent entree. Unless you are going to the bar for happy hour and going for the lettuce wraps, this is definately a no-go. Bo Lings is definaely a much better alternative.
Over rated. Americanized Chinese, geared towards imitation Chinese cuisine. Atmosphere is good, but food is much too expensive and the quality is mediocre at best. I do not recommend this place for dining.
Extraordinary. PF Chang's is my absolute favorite resturant. The food has always been exceptional, I have always had supurb service. Sometimes, it can be too crowded, but then again if it wasn't at times it wouldn't be a hot spot. All the food is wonderful. The lettuce wraps, shrimp dumplings, mongolian beef (with long beans added), crispy honey shrimp, and of course their magical sauce. The peach tea is unlike any other. I went to one in Las Vegas it was wonderful too. Just because it is a chain doesn't mean it's ordinary, it's extraordinary.
