Our daughter recently graduated from Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood School this year and it was such a wonderful experience that we have enrolled our son to begin in the fall! The school is the closest environment to having your children at home but with many more opportunities to learn, grow and blossom as individuals. The children are exposed to many great activities and the friendships they develop from the small, loving environment are priceless. The families of the students turn into your extended family and friends and it creates a great community. The teachers all have years of experience and work hard to develop your child on an individual basis. Their warm hugs every morning say it all!
Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood School is an exceptional preschool experience. Not only do the teachers provide a wonderfully nurturing and safe environment, but the educational curriculum is thoughtfully planned out to expose the children to an incredible range of topics and experiences. In the two years that our daughter has been at Lavonna's school, she has learned about art, music, computers, geography, culture, numbers, addition, subtraction, reading, and the list goes on and on. She constantly breaks out into spontaneous song, singing the upbeat songs she's learned at school. We have been blown away by the quality of the Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood experience!
My child went to Lavonna's from the time she was 6 weeks until she started Kindergarten and this school was the best choice I could have ever made. The teachers are loving and treat every child as if they were their own. My daughter learned to read at an early age and has had great success in elementary school due to what she learned at Lavoona's. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for child care in the Westport-Plaza area. The infant teachers are loving and work hard to make new parents and infants feel loved and welcome. The teachers were always on the floor playing with the infants, reading to them, and singing songs. I felt good about leaving my new born with such caring women. As a first time mother you never want to leave your child with strangers but, after the first week the infant teachers no longer felt like strangers. I could work every day knowing that my daughter was safe and loved.
DO NOT BRING YOUR BABY HERE! – I brought my 3 month old daughter here to the infant room and took her out 2 days later. They did not have her on a routine- they did not interact with her one-on-one besides changing her diaper and feedings. She basically sat in a swing for half the day. I would go over lunch to see her- she would be in the swing- and picking her up she was either crying on the floor or in a swing. They arent even suppose to HAVE swings at Montesorri Schools I found out. She would miss entire feedings- and going over lunch and witnessing the amount of crying babies in bouncers/bumbo chairs that they just ignore while they are feeding other children it was just a WRONG. I do not recommend bringing your child here.
