Good unknown Italian (and crabcakes). Good Italian in a romantic atmosphere (it doesn't have more than 20 tables). This is the place that turned me on to crab cakes. They are, rather unusually, served in a thin red sauce rather than tartar. The only negative is that after the crab cakes (2 for $14 but well worth it) and the salad, which is the best I've ever had (strange to say, but true) I haven't found an entree that can hold it's own. Still, excellent atmosphere and recommended for anyone looking to impress a date or celebrate an anniversary...
Most underrated Italian food in town. This is, in my opinion, the best Italian restaurant in town. I can't believe it doesn't come up on the radar of the critics, but I don't mind. It's hard enough to get a table as it is. The ambiance is romantic, the owner is a character, and the service is impeccable. I love the food, but usually just opt for salad and some pasta. The food is authentic and wonderful. You must not miss this experience.
