A sane respite amid the hubbub of Midtown, where festive decor, monthly exhibits by local artists, and strong coffee enliven even the gloomiest grump.
The Food
Regulars stop in early for the continental breakfast and caffeine charge. The turkey, ham or PB&J sandwiches make a tasty lunch. Add an espresso brownie, "extra chipper" chocolate chip cookie, or zippy candied ginger chunk scone for a late-day treat. The rich toffee bars and the white chocolate chunk macadamia cookies dipped in dark chocolate are the epitome of decadence. Speaking of indulgence, Annedore's Fine Chocolates adjoins the coffee shop where a sweet morsel is served with every coffee, espresso drink, and hot chocolate "mit schlag." During warm weather, icy-good Caffesorbetto and Frutta Granita refresh the weary.
