What Happened to the Menu?. The Velvet Dog has undergone many changes in the past few years. The ambience remains edgy, fun and relaxing. What happened to the MENU? Philly Beef or Chicken Nacho's piled high, Signature Slider Selection platter served with Sweet Potato Fries and a one of a kind Marshmellow Cream Sauce!? The Tri-Hummus perfecta with toasted pita points... This list goes on and on. It seems that the Chef is always changing, yet we find the same unappealing sausage/cheddar dog on the menu! The staff seems to have a chip on there shoulders. It would be nice to be greeted with a smile, and feel welcome to come and hang out to a game of Ski-Ball?! Whatever the case may be, don't over think your crowd and customers. Best bar? Perhaps if the menu can meet the stature of the Martini!…
best bar in martini corner.
The Velvet Dog has changed a bit lately, though it's still a great place to have some drinks. I'm disappointed they removed the bocce ball court from the patio, but the new bar IS definitely an

This bar has lots of nooks and crannies for more intimate conversation, yet you can also always meet someone interesting and new.
Fun times fun times.…

A lounge serving top martinis in a smooth atmosphere..
The Scene
Velvet is the correct term. The walls are a deep red; vintage lamp shades dangle from the ceiling; the artwork is lush and striking--it's a lounge with texture. The leather booths
give you more than adequate close quarters to make the first move. The rather large patio is opened up in the warm weather; challenge your date to a bit of flirty competition in bocce ball.
The Draw
Martinis. If you like your 'tinis traditional, they've got smooth and dirty ones. If you like yours with frills, they serve cosmopolitans or Blue Moons with Malibu rum, blue Curacao, pineapple juice and a splash of milk. Don't worry--they're all equally powerful.…
