Could be my favorite if only it was NON-SMOKING!. Great service and great food. Martini's were great. We loved the atmosphere and the city location (off Crossroads District). Only complaint and reason we'd never go back is the bar is smoking and there was definitely way too much smoke overflowing throughout the restaurant. Why spend big bucks for dinner to have the aromas and food tastes absorbed into a haze of cigarette and cigar smoke? We told the waiter the same and to pass on to the owners (or new owners as the restaurant I hear is for sale) - loved your restaurant but would never come back due to the cough cough ick SMOKE! So get a clue to the 21st century someday.

Not quite up to reviews. Service was somewhat indifferent. Not up to the level of a 4 star restaurant. We had to wave down the waitress to order our wine. The first several bottles of wine we selected were out of stock (this has never happened to me at a good restaurant).

My main course was flavorful, but lukewarm.

Zin needs improvement to live up to the hype.

Great Zin. This is a great place -- too bad more people don't know it!

The bar is small but warm and efficient.

The food is better than average and only slightly over-priced.

great food. The location is great- near art galleries. The design and atmosphere are both very cool- industrial and modern. The food is the star here. I had the parmesan crusted fish, which was delicious! Martini list is interesting- I loved the flirtini. This is a great date place..service was friendly- I would definitely come back!

Urban oasis. Very fine, well prepared interesting food in a modern classic environment. Go for it.

great for a date. The service at Zin was incredible. Our server spilled a tiny bit of our wine and to make up for it, brought us two glasses of champagne with our dessert( on the house, of course). The calamari was spectacular. I would have preferred more variety on the menu, but then, it just made me try something different. the best part was this first little course (named something french) that was supposed to "amuse" your tastebuds before the meal. great atmoshere and service!!!

Urban bistro. Unique in KC - big city bistro simlar to something you'd find in Chicago or NYC. Menu changes frequently but is always good. Something different in local upscale dining.

zin lover. Zin is a great place to either hang out at the bar or dine. Definitely they offer the best Martinis in town. Not only all of the dishes are artistic and creative but also mouthwatering. You can expect to see a variety of meat dishes from fillet, venison to squab, which are always presented with some sort of seasonal vegetables and wonderful sauce. They also offer great seafood dishes along with vegetarian dish. Dessert is also seasonal. I had a dish called apple phyllo tart with basil ice cream the other day and it was great! I have had great dining experiences at ZIN. Some of the items on the menu change seasonally so I can always try something different. There is no place like this definitely in Kansas City. If you were looking for some place special or just to dine casual, I would definitely recommend ZIN!
