Great environment.
There's no disputing that the restaurant looks really cool, and it's a great place to hang out with friends, and such, like you would in a traditional tapas bar in Spain. However, the food is really just okay. Do not go there expecting anything remotely authentic, though, as what they claim to be chorizo is actually Mexican chorizo, which is not even comparable to real Spanish chorizo. Also, the jamon serrano on the bocadillo was cut so thinly all you could note was the strange sauce spread on it. Overall, though, its a pretty cool little restaurant, which I'd recommend, as long as you are not looking for authentic Spanish tapas.

Love it.
You may get a waitress that seems like she has no clue what she is doing more often than not, but the food is great, the patio is wonderful, and the atmosphere is awesome.
I will always return to La Bodega when I am in a tapas mood.

Not at all what it use to be.
This place WAS as good as anything I've had in Spain... Then they changed chefs and things went down hill from there. It seemed every time we went, they had changed the menu item and it was always for the worst. We went for the last time the other day. Never again. Too bad, for this was our favorite place and we would go 2 or 3 times a week in the summer. RIP old friend!

Nice atmosphere, great location, fun food.
Went for Happy Hour pricing (sangria & tapas 1/2 off til 6PM). I am glad I did. I suspect they were watering down the sangria a bit, but it was very good. Get the red over the white.
The paella is very tasty and meant to share. Will go back - during happy hour - again.

Traditional Spanish-inspired locale incorporates the tapas way of life..
In Short
In Spain, tapas represents the Spanish custom of placing a piece of bread over a glass of wine, signifying leisure and good humor. The wine is said to be the medium that holds the conversation with friends and food together. La Bodega does just that by offering an open-floor plan and fine wines. Popular entrees include the roasted red peppers stuffed with tuna and rice and the ham-wrapped dates filled with chorizo.

This is a great little place. Very hip Tapas bar with lively decor and a really terrific wine list. Try a Rioja Blanca or hearty Ribero del Duero. We arrived early while Happy Hour was in force and enjoyed both the food and wine for half price. Great place for a first date - lots to discover and talk about!

fantastic!.
One of the hippest restaurants in kansas city! Food is incredible! I would recommend the chorizo stuffed calamari and the red sangria. The waitress was very nice and not pushy. Fun atmosphere...great for a date or a large group.

La Bootyega.
It's pretty good. The food is excellent. If you really want to do the "tapas" thing, be prepared to shell out some major cash. It doesn't seem so pricey at first, but the tapas are quite small, and it would take a dozen to fill up.
