Great View. Skies has an awesome view of the city. I like to go there to relax. It's a great place to go after dinner for desert and drinks. In my experience, the server is happy to re-seat you if desired.

Romantic Skies. I had heard of but never been to Skies until last night. It was a beautiful view, and the waiter was very nice. The food was good but not near the amount of portion one would expect for plates that start at $29 each. I thought for sure there'd be enough for a takehome bag afterwards. There was a loud group nearby, I believe sitting in a lounge area, which was bothersome, and kids were allowed to run free which was annoying.

It could be much better. It took more than half an hour to even place our order after being seated due to the inattentive staff; at dessert we got a new waiter and he was very good. The foie gras was great, and the lemon sorbet between courses was a nice touch. The signature dish duck, though, was slightly overdone and a bit disappointing. Also surprising on the negative side was the much heralded chocolate bar, which is not very good at all, except for the fantastic fondue.

Highly Recommend. Regardless of what other people say, Skies is a wonderful place to go for a date. The waiteresses were extremely nice. The food was good and gave more food than I expected. But the main reason to go there is for the atmosphere. So guys, if you want to guarentee that your date will love you, take her here. Might set you back a bit but its worth it.

Not So Great Night At Skies. My husband and I went to Skies to celebrate a late Valentines Day a couple of weeks ago. I was very pleased with the atmosphere, it was beautiful, but we will never return there. The food portions were not even enough for a small child. My husband and I are not big eaters, but we left there hungry and with a debit of $125.00 from our bank. Never again, they did not even acknowledge our special evening.

Don't listen to unhappy ovr eater. My wife and immensely enjoyed our visit to this resteraunt. We celebrated our fifth anniversary here and were treated lavishly by the staff. Pricey, yes, worth it for a special occaision, absolutely. It is why it is special.

So not romantic!. My husband and I dined at Skies for our anniversary, and we were seated practically in the wait station, so between the waiters banging my head with trays, and having to deal with them coming over behind our table all night and chatting, and the cold food, we were turned off. Never again will we eat there.

Romantic Atmosphere. The atmosphere of Skies is wonderful. It's a unique treat to dine by the peaceful twinkle of the KC lights.

Short on Romance. If Skies is the most romantic restaurant in Kansas City than we deserve our reputation of being a cow town. Skies is just another hotel restaurant that revolves displaying the lights of downtown KC on one side and the freeway and distant suburbs on the other three sides.
