What People Are Saying About Morton's Of Chicago

In Short – With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.

Equal value for dollar spent

by sing31 at Citysearch

Morton's is defintiely one of my favorite restaurants in KC. You cannot expect more in terms of service the staff is friendly and helpful. I have eaten at this particular restaurant 3 or 4 times and every time i have come away satisfied. The menu can be a tad expensive and when you spend those type of dollars for a meal you want equal value. They have delivered every time. The drink menu is excellent and the staff will explain the cuts of meats and the specials of the evenings as many times as you want to hear it. I enjoy comparing the local "special occasion" resturants and I have found some that equal Morton's but none better. If you are planning on spending $ for a meal this is definitely a place to visit.

  • Pros: Great Restaurant
  • Cons: Expensive

Still the best steak around

by cahill123 at Citysearch

I've been to every steakhouse in Kansas City, and most of the top ones around the country. No matter where I go, Morton's, though a chain, still has the best steaks I've tasted. Other Kansas City steakhouse institutions can't compare in their flavor or quality, or thickness of cut. It's pricey, but no more than any other steakhouse in this range. Go with this place. The staff and management always make you feel welcome and unlike some of the steakhouses on the Plaza, you don't have to wait an hour for your table (even with a reservation) and you don't feel like you're "clubbing" in LA as you wait for a table in their bar.

  • Pros: Quality steaks, Great Service , Clubby Ambience
  • Cons: Location, Limited appetizers

Excellent

by seibop at Citysearch

Manager Jeff Brown is great with guests - especially if you've been in a time or two. When you make reservations ensure you arrive early and have a beverage or two in the bar. For dinner choose - bar none - from the best chicken dish in KC - or arguably the best steak dishes to find anywhere in the metro area. If you want to have a large group - no problem they have a private dining room too.

  • Pros: Outstanding Service, Excellent Food, Surpurb service
