Horrible place to live!.
Don't be fooled by the post on March 22, 2012 because it was probably written by someone that works in the office, so as not to tarnish Burning Tree's reputation. For one, I lived there for many
years and I can say the only good thing about the place is the maintenance man, Bruce. Anytime anything needed fixing, he was on it and did an excellent job!
There are many issues with Burning Tree. The apartment manager Michael is horrid to deal with if you have a complaint. If it doesn't affect him, he doesn't want to hear about it. He has no personality and makes a point to reprimand tenants like they have been naughty children if he happens to disagree with you. He is a huge gossip and tells everyone whom will listen the goings on of current and past tenants personal issues that should be treated with privacy. It is like Melrose Place, so if you don't want your dirty laundry aired, don't ever stand up for yourself or get on the wrong side of the Apartment Manager, Michael Russell.
I don't think they are doing proper background checks on individuals that are being allowed to rent here because there has been such a massive turnover of people moving out and leaving a lot of units open, it makes a need for a fast cash enterprise.
Also, the ratio of crimes committed here have been on the increase in the past several years. Past and present tenants tell of the same stories of cars getting broken into constantly, drug use and distribution, domestic disturbances, and don't get me started with how many drunken and homeless people wander off of 40 Hwy and create disturbances out in the parking lots. Again, I have spoken to past and present tenants about these situations and have been witness to them as well.
The response time to 911 calls takes about 30 plus minutes, so if you happen to report a crime, they may be able to apprehend them a third of the time.
So, if you do not value your privacy, do not command respect for you and your property, then I guess this is the place for you. If you value your integrity, life, family and property, then run as far away from this place as possible. Rent is cheap for a reason. Happy apartment hunting to you all. God Bless!…
A great place to live!. I lived at Burning Tree Apartments for several years and experienced none of the problems about which the former two posters were addressing. It is a clean and quiet complex, priced very reasonably for the area and impeccably run both by Shryock Realty and Michael, the manager there. He has been in apartment management for many years and his professionalism and genuine concern for the complex and it's residents shows in how well it is run. I found the management to be fair and consistent in their treatment of matters. I can only assume that the last post commenting on his "homosexuality" was an attempt at a prank, as I have known Michael's ex-wife for years. He has never been less than completely professional in my experience dealing with him, as well as the friends I know who have also lived at Burning Tree Apartments.…
DO NOT RENT HERE>>>>>. This is a very bad place to live. Especially if you have children. There are several known child molesters that live in the complex. Also the manager, Michael is a homosexual and hits on any male that comes in to look at apartments. Do not live here. It's a scary place!!!…
Burning Tree.
I am sorry to hear that your experience with Burning Tree Apartments was so unpleasant. The fact of the matter is that 90% of the reviews that come up on any review site are usually stemmed from
disgruntled residents who either left for reasons of the company or simply because they couldn’t afford to live here anymore. Our apartments are older, but the #1 thing that our company prides themselves with is our spectacular maintenance staff and our managers. I believe that you may have had some plumbing issues as any property runs into those kinds of problems. As for the " Vaseline " comment I am aware of this situation and there were many things that you were charged for because you failed to maintain the home. I know for a fact that our home office will handle any complaints or concerns and will do whatever they can to help you, and work with you. So as far as Shryock not taking your calls or responding to your letter I find this incorrect. As you are not the first resident too ever have a complaint. You’re always welcome to do a walk through. Though we are very busy we ask that you set an appointment. As far as complaints on other tenants, we ask that you try to rectify the situation yourself first as your neighbors would be more appreciative about it. If the issue continues then we ask that you come to us and we will do what we need to in order to rectify the problem. We have a lot of Pigeons that fly around over here; it’s a part of Mother Nature. There is nothing that we can do to rectify this issue other than to have tenants not let them continue nesting on the balcony. We have a lot of residents who are long timers here, 20+ years. I’m so sorry that your experience here was not good. But better luck at your next home!
Thank you,
Jessica Negus
Assistant Manager…
do not rent here.
These apartments are not only old, outdated, and dirty, but the landlord is horrible. Upon leaving the apartments, I was charged for numerous items that made no sense. He went so far as to state I
rubbed Vaseline on windows and then charged me for it. Also I was never allowed to participate in the walk through once our stuff was moved out. Now they are charging me for false items, to make up for there outdated apartments that are quickly going down hill. We tried to contact the reality company who owns the complex by phone and letter. They never returned our calls or responded to the letter; however, they did put a collection item on my credit report.
The rent is cheap but the neighbors are awful. I complained about a drummer that lived below me several times, and the landlord never took the initiative to talk with the drummer kid or his mother. I also had a few pluming problems in the apartment that were not responded to. The one pluming issue, which was causing water in another apartment, was handled poorly. They removed the dishwasher, banged up the kitchen cabinets during the fix, and when I moved out they charged ME for the damage even after I had explained to the landlord what had happened.
They also have a serious pigeon problem that they refuse to do anything about. You cannot use the decks that are built on because they are covered in pigeon feces.
Don't move in here, they are awful.…
