Tips for Tim's Pizza

Bad Customer Service. Went to Tims Pizza for my son's b'day - a

yearly tradition. Young child working the

counter. So distracted I wasn't sure he was

going to be able to take my order. Ordered

two pitchers of soda, diet coke and coke,

and went to wait for pizza. After a few minutes husband mentioned that he thought

the soda was flat, son agreed. Other people

in party also agreed. I hadn't tried it yet so

gave it a sip and it was definitely flat. Both

pitchers, different soda, all flat. Husband

approached the counter and told the child

working that the soda was flat. Was told

it was fine, that they'd been serving it all

day with no complaints. Was also told that

we'd been there for quite awhile and it had

probably gone flat while waiting on pizza.

Child said he couldn't help him. Kid was not

a good choice for front counter work. Husband came back and said we should

get our money back and leave. Didn't want

to do that so son went back to front desk

with the soda. Husband went with him. Kid

looked at them and said - now what do you

want me to do. Adult making pizza shouted

over that they were doing the best that they

could. Husband finally told child he just

wanted his money back for the soda and

to give him a pitcher of water.

So unlike Tims usual customer service. We

eat there regularly and I will say the pizza is

excellent. But, I will have to now think before

I go back. I usually don't pay people to treat

me this way. There is usually a different

gentleman on the front desk - I believe, one

of the owners. He is excellent and has always been very professional. I didn't see

him the night we were there. I hate to give

up Tims but it may have to happen. So sorry.

Excellent za. I was in the area on Saturday, April 18th, so we decided to stop for lunch at Tim's Pizza in Independence. I had read about Tim's but never been there before. The place was not crowded at all, although it did start getting busier around 12:30 as we were leaving. It was a pretty clean establishment, although a few things like the bathrooms and high-chairs could use a little cleaning. But the pizza - was excellent!! It is definitely reminiscent of Happy Joe's Pizza, although I haven't had a Happy Jo'e's pizza in at least 25 years so my memory could be a little fuzzy. Nice, thin, crispy cracker-like crust. Sauce was tasty but not too spicey (I somehow remember H.J.'s being spicier), good cheese blend and loads of toppings. They certainly don't skimp on the toppings. We had 2 small pizzas: meat-lover's and a canadian bacon/pineapple. We ate about half of both. If you are someone that likes good thin-crust, Midwestern style American pizza, this is great place to go. I just wish he had a location on the Kansas side of town.

Try Amazing Pizza!. I am a huge lover of pizza. Then again, who isn't? this pizza joint has some of the scrumptious pizza ever. Tim's Pizza has a league of their own. Every time you come here, you are only welcomed with great service, and tremendous food. Quite a cozy, little joint, but it's perfect. If you think this place is a joke then you're wrong. Tim's Pizza will knock your socks off! (:

In a league of it's own. While not a great date spot and a little high on the noise meter, this is a pizza joint that's great for families and comfortable. The pizza, though, is so unique it's in a league of it's own. Crust that is thin without being too crunchy, toppings that are shredded so they can pile high on the pizza make this well worth trying. A pizza place run by grown ups that are focused on what you came there for -- a great pizza! So popular they don't have to run coupon specials to 'buy' your business, they don't take debit cards, and yet you know they appreciate your business every time you're there. Don't miss out!

Ridiculously Good Pizza!. It's likely you've never had Pizza this good. 3 inches high with fresh toppings, thin crisp crust supporting it without a hint of grease, & delicious sauce, plus tender cheese. It's basically perfect.

I've honestly never seen brand-loyalty like this. The repeat business is so good Tim's doesn't have to advertise, not in the slightest.

I can't believe someone else also gets the Veggie and adds Zesty Sausage, but it's my favorite too, it's like the best of both worlds. Let me also recommend enjoying whatever Pie you get, with a Leinenkugel's Red Beer- it's a hit now with my crowd, and we only drink it with Tim's Pizza.

I know people from all over the KC Metro for whom if you mention Tim's Pizza, the flavor memory is so strong that they now HAVE to go get some, or be disappointed until they do. It's THAT good.

Simply the Best. This is top notch stuff. Consistently great pizza. Service is always great. Try the Veggie with some zesty sausage. You won't regret it or forget it.

Simply the best. Tim's Pizza is simply the best pizza in the city! I drive from north of the river at least a couple time a month to get it. Tim & Steve always remember me and any other customers. Anybody that is old enough to remember Happy Joe's pizza will love Tims.

The best. Tim's is by far the best thin crust pizza I have had. The freshness of the product, (you would think there was a garden behind the shop) the balance of sauce, the loads of toppings. The crust is crispy and firm, making the slices easy to pick up, but is not overwhelming or greasy. This is a do not miss! If you're going to a ball game, or are in the Independence area, take the 5 extra minutes to get to the restaurant. Or better yet, call ahead and have it to go. I am just happy I work 10 minutes away.
