Stay Away!

Listen to everyone with a negative experience with this shop! Avoid it at all costs! The only positive reviews I’ve found seem to be close friends of the owner. Real good ol’ boy shop. Very friendly until they get your car. After that, good luck getting it back in any reasonable amount of time or getting ANY customer service. Very rude owner and mechanics. Will work on your car at their leisure with no care to how long it takes. Will not return your calls. If you do manage to actually catch the owner or a mechanic they are annoyed to even talk to you. If you try and get an estimate of time you get a blow off answer of “a couple more days”. Then another week goes by with no calls or work done. Get your estimate in writing as well! They don’t seem to want off the street customers.
My story. I took my car in for a blown head gasket from an overheat which was my fault. They told me it would take a couple of days. It sat in front of the shop for five days before they even took it in the shop. I asked that they check for a cracked block before they tore into the engine. They ignored me. I had to insist they check the bearings. When they relented they found they were shot. When they got it back to together they couldn’t get it to run. They pulled it apart again and found the rings were seized to the pistons. They made a big deal on how they had to tear the engine down again acted like they were doing me a giant favor for fixing a problem they missed. After three weeks of call backs I finally got me car back. They never could tell me what caused the over heat in the first place. Two weeks later car overheated within 30 seconds and blew a head gasket. I took it back and they tried to refuse their warranty and blame it all on me. After several weeks the owner told me he was working on it whenever he had “spare time” since warranty work didn’t make him any money! After a total six weeks from the second blown headgasket it still was not ready. When I tried to pick it up it still was not running right and they refused to take my check. When I tried to take my car they called the cops. The only way I got by car back was to may triple the amount he quoted for “tow and fluids” in cash and signing a warranty that his warranty was no longer good. I took it to another mechanic and within “ONE DAY” they fixed a bad ground, incorrect timing and the cracked heater hose that caused the whole thing in the first place. The hose clamp was placed back over the crack AFTER the engine was put back to together. Real quality work.
Satisfied customer

I have taken my cars to Hight for years. Their prices are very competitive they do quality work. A relative of mine received a safety inspection quote from a Blue Springs shop that was outrageous. Hight reviewed the quote and looked at the vehicle - it only required 1/3 of the work the other shop said was required. It did take more time to get it repaired, but that was the trade off.
They are just like any other business in that they take care of their established customers, which is both a blessing and a curse. I will continue to use them. Whether or not they expand to accomodate more customers, that is their business decision.
Worst experience ever!

worst experience ever! I took my car their and told them I needed it back quickly. they said no problem. After a month went by they finally looked at it and said it need a new motor and they would find one. Two months went by with me calling regulary with most call going like the receptionist saying he will call you back and he never once called back, if by lucky chance you did talk to someone the experience was tipical to jbm's review I dont care, your repairs are not worth their time, you dont own a race car, do what we say and pay the bill. In the end he said he could not find a motor, so I said I would look. I made one phone call to county line auto and found one for threehundred and fifty doallrs less. When I called and told Greg he threw a screaming cussing temper tantrum and ordered my car off his lot. So after he did nothing to my car he still charged an outragious amount plus a tow charge to take it to a real mechanic.Unless you drive a race car and love to over pay for shoddy work I would stay away from shop and save your self Gregs unjustified temper tantrums.
Go somewhere else...

The prices are reasonable here, but the service and attitude of the employees, save the receptionist, left much to be desired.
Despite having a scheduled appointment, the estimate for a minor repair to my vehicle took two and a half days. It probably would have been longer had I not periodically called and reminded them that they had my vehicle.
The mechanic's conversations with me were filled with thinly veiled annoyance. Perhaps the repairs I needed weren't big enough to be worth their time. Customers here feel pressured to just shut up and let their vehicle sit in the business lot for days, until it is convenient for them to work on it.
I recommend going somewhere that doesn't charge for an estimate and will speak to you with more respect. I have had good experience with Summit South, in Lees Summit, and will continue going there for service in the future.
