GREAT Hometown Family Restaurant. Tara's Cafe in historic downtown Belton Mo is one of the hiddden treasures in the metro area. The breakfast hour is a must do...popular with the locals and the food is yummy from the gravy and biscuits to the healthier option of oatmeal. Lunch has the familiar and trusted standbys as well as a great special each day (try the egg salad sandwiches and the Santa Fe soup). Friday nights are the best with a fish fry from 5pm to 8pm. Piping hot and delicious. The owner and her family do an amazing job.

Not happy!!!!!!!!!!!!. This was the WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!! I am new to town and was very excited about a small, hometown, mainstreet cafe. What a complete waste of time!!!!! The waitress was horrible! After bringing my order, which was cold, she left and NEVER EVER came back. The cook from the back came out to take my money - which I never should have paid in the first place but I wanted to get out of there and get something I could actually eat and feed my kid. There goes all my preconceptions about a small, hometown, mainstreet cafe. I will NEVER go back nor refer anyone there for any reason!!!! There are no excuses, it was a weekday, lunchtime and my daughter and I, along with one other customer reading the paper, were the only ones in there. I guess that should have been my first clue! Negative 3 stars for Tara's Cafe!!!!
