Breakfast food done right!.
Our Saturday breakfast group was a long time coming to You Say Tomato, but one visit convinced us that it is as good as we had heard.
The cinnamon rolls are not just a gooey mass of sweet, but honest bread made the way that reminded me of my mother's. They only do scrambled eggs, but they are almost as perfect as possible. My dining partners have had the french toast over which they rave. The coffees are from Parisi and full bodied. The breakfast casserole is good, but could be better by adding more goodies rather than just eggs. It is more like a savory bread pudding than any breakfast casserole that I have ever had. The sausage gravy helps to make it passable, but needs more gravy to get it down. The breakfast sandwiches have always been raved over as have the quiches and corn beef hash. Great pies too for "dessert" after breakfast. A neighborhood gem that makes you feel comfortable.....like I just stepped back into 1950 or earlier.
