Great Reverse Happy Hour. I agree with the other review this is a hip place. Great place to hang out if you want something light before the bar/club. Had a couple of dinners here they were good. Nothing to write home about.

Love the vibe - I'll go back!. Yes, Nara is a hip and trendy spot. It's loud, and pulls in an attractive crowd. But beyond the surface, it's a substantive place. The menu is diverse, satisfying many different appetites. My wife and I recently dined there with another couple, and spent a very pleasant three hours conversing, ordering small plates to share, and drinking wine. Our server had a great personality, and helped us through the comprehensive menu. Our food choices were all very good, and a couple of them were outstanding. It was my third visit there, and I have been pleased every time. One complaint - the red wine was served way too warm. They need a better wine storage plan. Be sure to check out the bathrooms - they're unique!

Great looking place, DISGUSTING looking sushi!. If I wouldn't have felt embarrased walking out as soon as I sat at the sushi bar, it would have looked like a scene out of a Road Runner cartoon(a wisp of dust) Beep!Beep! The doors to the sushi cooler were left open the whole time I was there, and looked like they had been for days! The fish was dried out and the Tomago actually looked dehydrated! I ordered a couple of pieces of Unagi and Ebi and was still afraid even though they were cooked. There was a card on the bar that had a Japanese name for the sushi chef but the guy behind the bar(although very friendly) was Hispanic! If this is what the food that is out for all to see looks like, I would never, ever trust the kitchen. I did enjoy the real, fresh wasabi! So much so, that I got a to-go container and took it to my favorite and without a doubt the best sushi place around(Jun's, 77th& Stateline Rd.). The place might be great for a cocktail and an upscale clientele, but I would recommend against the food, especially the sushi!!! ?Andie? my server was also very nice!
