Horrible experience.
This was a truly miserable and unforgettable experience. My wife set reservations days ago for 8 of us to have dinner here tonight (Saturday 4-28-12). To start, the restaurant smelled like a toilet at a sports facility...nasty. Then to add insult to the situation just as we began looking at the menu one of the servers noticed we had a Restaurants-dot-com certificate. She loudly proclaimed from clear across my table that they WOULD NOT accept the certificate. She went on to tell me how I can call Restaurants-dot-com to get a refund. And then she asked for our order...SERIOUSLY?
My entre party got up and left the restaurant. None of us will ever step foot in this establishment again. My 10 minute impression is as follows:
1) Restaurant smells horribly
2) did not appear sanitary or clean
3) unfriendly staff
4) non-caring management as a male (assumed to be the owner others have talked about) quickly came to the table bad mouthing Restaurants-dot-com...unnecessary
In short, we will never step foot in this restaurant again. If you choose to try them anyway, I wish you the best of luck.
great sushi, friendly staff and owner. This could easily become one of my new favorites in the K.C. Metro area. While it might not be the coziest sushi joint I've been to, the fish was very fresh (the owner was actually carving the filets off of several different kinds of fish when we sat down), it was a nice looking place and the owner/sushi chef was very friendly! The presentation of the food is also probably the finest around. Officially in my top 3 in K.C.!
Wonderful Sushi and Great Atmosphere!. I first heard about this restaurant from the Pitch and had to try it. One of the very best sushi places in Kansas City, hands down. The Greenwich roll, Dragon roll(made to look like a dragon) and the Spicy Tango roll(hot hot hot) are my favorites. The restaurants specialty roll is the Hot Temptation roll. Don't be fooled though because it is neither spicy nor temperature hot. It is a sweet roll and a wonderful creation of the owner. Also, you have to try the ZiPang. It's a wonderful chilled Sake. I love the atmosphere as the Husband and wife that own it are always there working. Super nice people! I highly recommend this to everyone I know!!
