I haven't lived in Kansas City for 23 yrs. Big Q wasn't around when I left. But they are NOW. Went by Rosedale BBQ the day before and was SORELY disappointed. Tried the Big Q on a hunch, and I was right.... the best ribs I've had since I left KC. Took home two more slabs and 6 bottles of sauce. These guys rock !!!

The ( BEST ) Barbeque in Town. If you Love Barbeque ( not sweet sauce ) But the best barbeque. This smoke house knows just how to make GOOD food. I have had barbeque all over the U.S. and this is the BEST. Just go there for the food. Anytime I have a Day were I do not feel like Cooking out. This is the Barbeque Place for me. I have 9 kids and this is now the Smoke house they all go to.

Great Sauce and Beans. We were visiting from Omaha and came across this place. We had the ribs and baked beans and they were great! The sauce was delicious, food came out FAST, and the beans were the best I've ever had. The beans were full of meat pieces. Totally would recommend this place.

BBQ done wrong. I was driving down the street on afternoon hungry and thought hey a BBQ place I have never been to. I should have keep on driving. It is smokey and not from the meat from the 20 guys sitting there smoking away. I was the only one in line and it took 15 minutes to get my sandwitch and fries. The employes are rude not as much as a thank you when they gave me my food. The food tasted like budding meat with BBQ sauce on it. No smoke flavor at all. I would say if you drive by it just keep going.

Best barbecue anywhere.. Whether it's ribs, beef sandwich, or a bottle of the sauce, Big Q cannot be beat. I haven't lived in Kansas City in seven years, but everytime I come home to visit my family I MUST eat at Big Q, and my grandmother sends me bottles of sauce regularly. The ribs are literally falling off the bone. The sauce by itself doesn't taste so special, but when you add it to meat it is magic.

One thing - I'd recommend ordering for carryout if you don't like smoke, as it is a very small restaraunt and there's almost always a customer smoking somewhere. Wednesdays ribs are on special.

My parents went there when they were kids, and it's no wonder the place is still in business after all these years, even in the slightly cruddy neighborhood (hey, I grew up a block away, it's just not the best area).
