Many better places in KC !. The smoke ring on the meats is good--decent flavor, but nothing special--backyard bbq basically. Beans are well below average. I would comment on the sauce (brand) they serve (made by a private company in KC on Southwest Blvd), but, unfortunately, that co's attorney threatened to sue me if I told (antyone else) the truth about their "sauce".

If you saw what I saw .... oh well, eat wherever you want !! Gates, Bryants, Fiorellas, Smokehouse, KC Masterpiece are all superior products.…

Just OK!. Read and heard so much about it. Live in Texas Hard Eight BBQ is way better. The lines where long so I thought that was a good sign. The people where helpful, got 2 slabs of ribs, a Z sandwich, sliced beef , beans, and onion ring. The onion rings are GREAT!. The beans where very good, different but good! The Z sliced beef with two onion rings and cheese, swing and a mIss!, The sliced beef reminds me of Arbys it was sliced so thin with ZERO flavor. Ribs, eh just ok not worth all of the hype! Texas BBQ of pork of brisket is much better. The onion rings where the best I ever had but BBQ, keep going!…

Long lines tell you it must be good !!!. K C folks know all about Oklahoma Joe's and if you are traveling through Kansas City I say stop here for some fantasic bbq. The beans are unique being a blend of different kinds of beans, one of them being a black bean. Beans are smokey and to me are some of the best. As of November 2008, a jumbo pulled pork sandwich on white or wheat bread or a bun was 6.49 and a side of beans 2.09 or cup 3.19. The rib dinners with one side and texas toast 12.29. Now with bbq deliciously seasoned and perfectly smoked, I have to recommened this as a must go to.…
