Petland

Needs New Management. I was in this store on Friday evening to buy a boxer that was on sale and initially the service was great until we were being strongarmed into buying accessories including dog food. We were convinced that the dog should be on the same diet that he is on while there and we agreed to purchase it if we can do a price match. Owner/Store Manager didn't like that, he felt as if we were not supportive of the store since we decided to purchase the leash and harness from Wal-Mart. He asked us to leave the store and stated that he didn't want us to be his customer. I referenced "Us" to mean is it because we were black. He began to yell and scream saying "No, I don't like You!" I stated that I was going to broadcast this fact on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, and all social media resource to my avail, which made him hot.

After we left the store the manager and clerk followed us out and continued on with his unprofessionalism. The clerk continually asking the owner/manager to "Calm Down" and he wasn't listening. He was hot at us. Touching me nose to nose, he continued to yell and eventually pushed me hitting me in the nose. At this point the matter turned into a criminal complaint of "Assault" and the Olathe Police responded. Of course all of the clerks responded with their version of the incident and there was now a criminal charge against me he accused me of "poking him!" All I can say is wow where are the cameras when you need them. I am about 145 lbs in weight with a thin build, this guy is 255 with a built, absolutely no match.

The unprofessional behavior was reported to Petland HQ Operations and I am awaiting a corporate response. In short, this store is in need of new management. I love Petland and this was a very weird and uncomfortable experience because we wanted to buy a dog on sale.

Petland, if you promote the fact that dogs need your food then please make it a package deal and sale it altogether as a package deal.…

Puppy Mills!. Please do not get your pets (or any other supplies) from here! They get many of their dogs from puppy mills. Despite lawsuits, they continue to do business with puppy mills. I would post links but Citysearch won't let me. Just search "Petland puppy mills".…

So many pets to choose from!!!. I absolutely love the variety of puppies they have, and how clean and well kept they are. They a good variety of other small animals a birds too! I've also notice they've had new salt water fish come in that are absolutely beautiful. Every one there is willing to help even if it takes a bit longer than other pet stores(thats just because they are so packed full of families and kids). Every one Gets the information you need, and if they dont know they get someone who will. They are constantly making sure we are always sanitizing our hands and they clean out the rooms we all play in so they animals dont get sick. How great is that! I've never been to a pet store that is so dedicated to trying their hardest in keeping the healthiest pets to their capability.
