Minsky's is the only place I found gluten free pizza. I just wish they had more choices to choose from
I just love Minsky's pizza. Me and my family enjoyed a combo pizza with wings after my son won his football game. Go SMNW Cougars 4th grade team. #20. Thanks guys you will see us again soon.
It's a rather classy pizza cafe and bar with a nice family ambience during the day and adult night-life at night; I think the one here in Shawnee goes to 21+ around 9 at night. The waiting staff is young but adequate. The last time my family went, the waiter allowed us to order an appetizer that was no longer on the menu. I'd give it a 9 out of a possible 10.
I absolutely love Minsky's Pizza and this location is great! The service is good and the wait is never too long! I always want to order something new but loved what I got the previous time, so hard to choose. I love thier Chicken Cordon Blu pizza and my son loves the Mac and Cheese pizza :)
This is, without a doubt, the best Minsky's anywhere. The pizzas are always steaming hot and incredibly delicious. The salads are always fresh. The Saturday deal of a house salad for free with a large pizza is excellent. The service is always very good. The servers are friendly and helpful. Sara N. is the best server ever! We have never been disappointed at this location! Thank you soooo much!
Minsky's - After 30 years - Never Again.
I second Senior Gal (Aug. 22, 2011). Two incidents at the Prairie Village and Shawnee Minsky's in just the last month are finally enough to say goodbye to Minsky's - with resolve. First, a waitress challenged what we had pre-ordered by phone on the way into the restaurant, insisting what we ordered was not correct and balking at making an adjustment on the bill. Mistakes happen, but the rudeness and arrogance was frankly unparalleled in any restaurant we've been to ... until tonight.
We, too, were invited to leave Minsky's after seeking to spread out our party of 5 over two booths rather than jamming into one. We promptly went across the street to Jose Pepper's, had outstanding service and spent probably double what we had planned to spend for pizza.
To think, in just the past month, my husband and I had three times defended Minsky's to friends/neighbors as a long-time favorite over newcomers Spin and Pizza 51.
I have been a customer since the earliest days at Metcalf and on Main Street and have a message for the owners: In today's economy, with the many, many choices available to diners, it does not require a Harvard MBA to understand that it is much easier (and less expensive) to keep a happy customer than to attract new ones. Conservatively, I estimate our family spent $500+ per year with you. That, over just the 20 years we have been back in Kansas City, is $10,000. I am curious that you believe rude wait staff and managers can afford to throw away that kind of business in today's market.
Message # 2: They say happy customers tell one or two people and disgruntled customers tell 10. Whether it will be sports teams, scouts, business groups or friends, you can be assured our experience will be shared often and in detail.
Extremely Rude Manager &waitress that throw out Senior gals.
I am a Senior Citizen and was thrown out just for bringing a bottle of coke zero. The rude staff /manager threw me out for bringing in a coke zero . They should of just told me nicely that they didn't allow outside sodas. Instead of throwing me out. He also stated that he had put up with a lot of things before in the restaurant but bringing in your own soda. was the worse... Can you believe that?? I said I was sorry that I was used to doing this in my state and complaints because most don't have coke zero, and I admit I am addicted to only that brand. He said well the rest of the country isn't like that. Hum!!! really I used to work for the airlines and have frequented many establishments, and have never been treated so rudely. Poor representatives for the state of Kansas, as Minsky's. Very Rude waitress and Very rude Manager. Very expensive pizza, for today's economy. I guess they have so many customers they can treat people like cattle.
You'd of thought that I had brought in something illegal, or dangerous. If this is the worst he has ever experienced in his restaurant is a little old lady bringing a coke zero,. There was a baby in there eating their own food as well, next , little babies will be thrown out for bringing their own, along with the little old ladies. I think this restaurant staff is in the wrong business. If the manager is rude to customers, his staff get's their lead. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I don't know if this restaurant has a corporate office to complain to. My son and daughter went the next day to complain to the manager. Someone lied and said there was no male manager on duty the day before and told them they needed to call another day and ask for a manger, that one wasn't present. Of course they lied. Do yourselves a favor and skip Minskys . I have read other reviews for this location as well and they talk about the rude manager and staff. Looks like it is a pattern. Corporate if you are listening.
lan on telling anyone who will listen about this horrible experience.
Shawnee Minsky's is the best Pizza in town. We have been to the Minsky’s in Shawnee MANY times and I would not go anywhere else…period! They have been the best for a long time. We always have great service even when it is busy. I always get the pizza that is all meat and my wife likes the veggie and her family loves the seafood…I like the seafood real well too. What we feel is important is that you must visit the Shawnee Minsky’s, they are the ones who do it all the very best.
