Can't wait to come back!

The Taiwanese inspired dishes are magnificent and left my taste buds wanting more! Me and my date had trouble deciding what to get, so we ordered several starters, the sake sampler and sesame balls served with a sweetened plum sauce for dessert. We finished off this wonderful and tasty meal with some hot tea. My favorite starter was the fried tofu with awesome sauce. Incredible!
I would order all of the same dishes again, but I really can't wait to try other items off the menu.
The ambiance is very cozy and romantic and the service was friendly without being overly intrusive.
The restaurant is located in a very eclectic and fun neighborhood in KC. What a treasure!
- Pros: food, service, ambiance
- Cons: limited seating
Amazing food, service, and casual but romantic ambiance

This is "our place" for me and my wife. As the proposal took place here, so does every anniversary, most birthdays and special occasions, and just nights when we want to FEEL special.
The pot-roast on noodles is my favorite meal in the Kansas City area. However, nearly every entree is great. I personally recommend always getting the entree "on noodles." The dumplings are fantastic either pan fried or traditional.
Important - Every meal MUST begin with a scallion biscuit. These crunchy/chewy morsels dipped lightly in the accompanying dumpling sauce, are TO DIE FOR!!! Don't share, get one for each of you!
In nearly six years, we have never once had less than stellar service at the Blue Koi. Quick drink refills, good wine pairing advice, lots of smiles, we even had our waiter buy us dessert the night I proposed!
- Pros: food, service, location, food
- Cons: no reservations for less than six people, seating can be tight. a little pricey
Best by far!

I've had almost everything on the menu and been here several times and the service has been great, the food is always excellent.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: There's usually a wait!
Taste bud heaven, except the bubble teas.

Pros - This place has really good dumplings. You can really get the fresh taste of the ingredients inside the dumplings if you order them boiled and just dip in a little siracha chili mixed with soy sauce. I ordered a seafood noodle soup with bean thread noodles instead of rice noodles. The broth was very delicious and not too oily. There was also a lot of spinach, which I love.
Cons - The bubble teas are not really good though. The tapioca balls were kinda hard inside, and most of the flavors on the menu are made of powder mixes instead of fresh ingredients. For example, I ordered a red bean green tea slush, and I could not taste the red bean flavor. It was a little odd tasting.
- Pros: food, service
- Cons: bubble teas
Dumpling bar

The dumplings are great (pan-seared, of course). In fact, I usually get two servings of dumplings rather than an entree. A very original and intriguing Asian cuisine menu, but if you're expecting American-style Chinese you'll be disappointed.
- Pros: Dumplings, Eat at the bar
- Cons: Duck wrap, Decor
