World class, excellent care, very knowledgeable.
"When I arrived for my appointment/initial exam the receptionists seemed pleasant and helpful as they both worked together to get my initial paperwork complete. I was then promptly taken to full mouth x-rays. The tech who took the x-rays was quick and really nice. Even though I said I was accustomed to dental work and the x-rays would be of little discomfort, she kept checking to make sure I was ok.
While I was taking x-rays, Dr. Afzali stopped in to introduce herself. She said she was going to work with another patient while I am taking x-ray and she would be right back. She indeed returned shortly and went over the x-rays with me and then did a thorough check of my mouth, teeth and glands. She reviewed everything with me and discussed future needs and care. We even chatted a bit about my dog. Turns out she is animal lover.
On my way out I got a free, toothbrush and toothpaste. Set my next appointment and was on my merry way.
My only complaint is how far booked in advance they are for cleanings. Just makes me think they are busy though. As they should be with the great service they are providing.
After my first visit, I feel completely comfortable recommending, Lees Summit Family Dentistry and Dr. Afzali. I actual look forward to my cleaning - now who says that about their dentist?"
My teeth have never felt better. NO MORE CAVATIES!.
I couldn't disagree with the last review more. I don't go to the dentist for a spa treatment. Going to the dentist is never something one looks forward to. Even a simple cleaning is somewhat uncomfortable. The reality is that if your having problems with your teeth it's likely there is something wrong with them and sometimes it's hard to hear the consequences of how poorly we maintain our teeth.
I am prone to cavitities being that my enamel was weakened as a result of an eating disorder. Dr. Afzali was able to be very frank with me, unlike other dentists who dance around the issues and tell you what you want to hear. Although the reality of the condition of my teeth was harsh to hear, she was able to open my eyes to what the future would hold for me and my teeth if I did not take reccomendations seriously. I followed her instructions and changed my eating habits along with the usual maintain(i.e. flossing, brushing, mouthwaste). Within a year I came back and intead of being told I had multiple cavities, I had none! My enamel was beginning to rebuild and the damage was reversing. She was able to do some cosmetic work that reshaped my teeth along the gum line. I am not sure what the technique is called, but she basically sculpted my tooth back in shape by adding a material onto my teeth to replace what was eaten away from my unhealthy eating habit.
I would trade having a doctor that just wanted to make small talk and tell me all the things I would love to hear for one that is professional and gets the job done any day! I have been going to her ever since!
Assembly Line Dentistry. I have to say this dentist is very knowlegable and technically proficient. Only go here if you want to be treated like a slab of meat though. Got my teeth cleaned here today, the dental assistant was nice - then I waited in silence for 1/2 an hour for the dentist. Not even an introduction when she walked in. 1st thing she cracked me on the head with the overhead light with a mumbled apology. Followed by an uncomfortable poking and prodding examination then a very uncomfortable cleaning accompanied by a stream of demeaning comments about the condition of my teeth. Needless to say, I'm on the search for another dentist.
