Disappointed. I have enjoyed going to the Longhorn for sometime, but of late it isn't the same. Sometimes the tables are sticky. I always order the Prime Rib - last night they were out, so I ordered the Ribeye - the menu describes it as "Cut fresh, 12 oz. juicy and flavorful" It wasn't anything I could eat - extremely spicy and greasy, the only taste was the hot spices. Another thing - when the bread was served some of the butter was room temperature soft, the rest of it cold - do they 'recycle their leftover butter?
National chain rustles up rib eyes, T-bones and fillets in a kid-friendly, Lone Star-inspired setting..
In Short
One of the country's most successful steakhouse empires attracts a casual crowd with huge, reasonably priced steak dinners and a tempered Texan milieu (country music and imposing cattle busts). Wise diners turn off their internal calorie counters, as many menu items arrive fried, covered in cheese, or both. A typically rich meal starts with cheese fries, followed by a blue cheese-crusted fillet. Fried cheesecake ends the night on a note of Texas-sized decadence.
Best Steak Around! Better Than Hereford!!!. The Flo's Filet is the way to go. I wouldn't order any other steak there - it's always perfect! Pair it with grilled asparagus or baked sweet potato with cinnamon & you'll be in heaven. The salmon is also excellent. You'll be so full you won't have room for dessert, so get the chocolate stampede without the ice cream to go!
Longhorns. Jerimiah, our server, was excellent! He made us feel completely at ease and his service was done with complete finesse. My steak was perfection, which not an easy thing to provide considering catering to different clientel on a daily basis. The atmosphere is warm and we liked the "cowboy feel" of the restaurant. We would definitely return again.
Too Long on the Horn. I recently had a birthday dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse near Libery, in KC North. The service was weak, the table was not cleaned, the waitress kept forgetting things, and the steak was very average. It was late or we would have driven a little farther to Strouds or Tommie's. Even a Ponderosa would have been a better value. I hate these chain outfits and their lousy "bottom line" mentality.
This is a joke, right?.
This is restaurant is a joke pretending to be a steak house. Sorriest excuse for a steak house I've ever seen. Steaks are okay if you like them loaded with gristle that can't be chewed. Steaks loaded with seasonings to hide any true beef flavor.
Service was very poor also. This is a chain with locations around the metro and the one in Liberty is equally bad. There is no reason to ever patronize
these national steakhouse chains. There is nothing positive to be said for The Longhorn chain.
Steak & Family. Great steak at a good value! My first time there I was very impressed with the server's attention to our group. The quality of meat served was tender and tasty. Our family enjoyed the attention from staff and the great food.
Suculent steaks. Great tender steak. Not very pricy. My favorite part is the sauce that they give you to dip your steak into!
Keep coming back. Every time I go to one of the "premeir" Kansas City Steakhouses, I can't help but compare it to Longhorn. I'm always seated speedily and get decent service for a restaurant chain. The steaks are as good or better than any other I've eaten in Kansas City. One drawback is the constant motion from the multitudenes waitstaff. I keep coming back because Longhorn keeps delivering the best steak!
