In Short – Art galleries call the historic Freight House district home, so it's no surprise that the latest Jack Stack outpost is more lofty than rustic, with the clientele and servers to match. Order a slab of ribs and a side of the smoky, meaty baked beans; for the true Jack Stack experience, try the burnt ends, created by Jack's father over 40 years ago.
Best BBQ on EARTH!!!

This is the one.
The absolute best on the planet.
I love BBQ. It's actually a significant reason why I've never moved out of KC. I eat here every chance I get.
Try it for yourself.
I don't know how they do it. It's just meat, right? Put a little sauce on it and put it on the fire. How hard can it be? Nope. These people have elevated the art. It's famous for a reason.
- Pros: Tender, succulent, fatty, flavorful
- Cons: Non-Trivial Risk of Death

Extremely Good upscale BBQ!

After asking around for the best restaurant in the area, the consensus pointed me in the direction of Jack Stack BBQ. Although fancier than any other rib place I've been to before, they really delivered on taste and value. Being my first time, I decided to play it safe and going with the sampler (jack's best) with a side of beans and cheesey corn. Everything on the sampler (ribs and burnt ends) was excellent. The sauce, the smoke, etc... all melded together. Although skeptical of the cheesey corn, it proved to be a winner...especially in tandem with the beans. The ribs definitely made my Top 5 for barbecue...and I'll be sure to stop by the next time I'm in town.
- Pros: BBQ, Cheesey Corn, Beans, Service, Value, Ample Parking
- Cons: Portions can be larger.
