POOR EVERYTHING. Stopped by for some takeout for lunch. Placed an empty beer bottle laying in the front in the trash and proceeded inside. I had three ladies TRY to take a simple order. My order was then placed incorrectly THREE times. I could here her calling my order back and it was wrong. Each time I corrected her and still she called my order wrong. I just waived her off and left. When I called the manager "N" he didn't seemed to think anything was wrong but that I was rude for asking my order to be correct. OMG I just wanted a bowl of soup. Not a difficult order. He said he was glad I left. So much for customer service. I had been a customer for about 20 years and after this display of poor service and horrible management I will never return.

After Bar Food. Ok so everyone knows that Chubby's is the place that most people go for after bar food. There is nothing like grabbing a bite to eat after you have been drinking. I personally crave breakfast food after I have had a few. On the flip side I have always had poor service when I have went into the location. Maybe I shouldn't expect very much at 2 am in the morning. However, if you are waiting on people at any time of the day I think you should be polite and attentive....

THE BOYS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN HUNGRY AND IN THE WESTPORT AREA YOU HAVE BEEN TO CHUBBY'S ON BROADWAY. IF NOT THEN YOU HAVE BEEN MISSING SOMETHING. JUST LAST MONTH THE SON'S OF THE ORIGINAL CHUBBY'S; OF WHICH THERE HAVE BEEN 4 LOCATIONS SINCE THE FIRST ONE MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO; EVICTED A FORMER OPERATOR AND SHUT DOWN THE PLACE FOR 3 WEEKS FOR SOME MUCH NEEDED REMODELING. AFTER A WONDERFUL JOB OF REMODELING CHUBBY'S HAS REOPENED AND HAS BROUGHT BACK ITS FORMER GLORY. VITO AND NICK LaBRUZZO HAVE DONE A MAGNIFICENT JOB OF PROVING THAT YOU CAN GO BACK. THE FOOD IS GREAT AND THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE. NO BETTER DEAL I HAVE FOUND. I WAS ONCE A CUSTOMER BEFORE I BECAME AN EMPLOYEE, BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, GO SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Eat. Here. Now.. My husband and I went to Chubby's upon recommendation from a local in Kansas City. We went during Sunday brunch hours, and we expected a big hot mess, but the experience was delightful.

We're a couple of lazy yuppies from the St. Louis suburbs, so I felt a bit of a jolt when I saw "Cash Only". However! My husband was packing moneys so we were set.

I ordered an omlette, and my husband got the country friend steak and eggs. We also got a side of the sausage gravy (hey, we were on vacation). When our meals arrived, we were shocked at the quantity (country fried steak was as big as my head), and when we tucked in, we were surprised by the quality as well.

The service was AMAZING. Diner service can be dubious, but if you happen to smoke, and come by during the day on a Sunday, hope for Cheryl (or Sheryl, not sure). Lovely woman--and we had only been seated for about 10 minutes before our food came. Our coffees and waters were refilled quickly. Oh yeah, did I mention the breakfast was awesome?

I cannot recommend this place enough. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and next time I'm in KC, I'm eating at Chubby's.

Cash only!. ha! Who hasn't gone to Chubby's after leaving any bar? If not, you have to! It's a great place to go get some food after a long night of drinking!

Serving hearty breakfast to the after-hours crowd.. In Short
Mainly inhabited by families during the day, part of the Chubby's charm is lost unless it's after bar hours and your stomach is ravenous for a greasy-spoon. The '50s style decor and constant coffee refills creates a perfect atmosphere for 3am confiding and winding down the night. Most dishes are heavy on the meat; there isn't much sympathy for vegetarians here. Although burgers and other dinner-fare is offered, breakfast is the popular favorite.

Good Diner. KC doesn't have many diners but Chubby's is the best.

Good service particularly if you sit at the counter in the morning.

The smoking can be bothersome. Some diners seem to generate a lot of smoke.

You never know. Most times uncertainty is bad but not with Chubby's. You never know what kind of people you're going to see there, or what the waitresses will say next. Awesome late night destination!

This place sucks. Four of us went to Chubby's after the bars closed on a Friday night. We were seated pretty much right away, but were told the food would take 45-60 minutes. One hour and 50 minutes later, we still didn't have our food, and other, larger tables that had arrived over 30 mins. AFTER we had, already had their food. And no, we didn't order anything complicated--standard fried fare and sandwiches. We finally left (supposedly our order was "the next one up", as told by our rather unconcerned, unhelpful waitress) and went to Sunfresh Market. Which, I might add, I highly recommend.

Bigger Than Your Stomach. If you go in to have a bite to eat and leave hungry you will have no one to blame except yourself. Chubby's offers generously sized portions for some of the most reasonable prices in Kansas City.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner, whatever your desire, Chubby's has what you want. Don't pass them up!!
