Best BBQ EVER!!!!!!!!. I've eaten at some of the most high priced bbq joints in kc. This place is hands down the best bbq around. Thier fries are great hot or cold and there bbq sauce is to die for. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!!!!!!!!!

great bbq and fries. 9/16/07-SUNDAY PM: I LOVE BATES CITY BBQ. THIS IS WHERE I LEARNED I LIKED PORK BBQ OVER BEEF BBQ. I LIKE THEIR FRIES, TOO. AND I THINK IT'S GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY--$10.99'S NOT BAD FOR A SLAB OF RIBS.....EVEN IN THE GROC STORES YOU PAY A COUPLE OF BUCKS MORE THAN THAT.....JANE H..PS NOW IF ONLY I COULD AFFORD A T-SHIRT IN THE COLOR PURPLE....HINT HINT.....

Best Fries in KC. This all-American, hometown BBQ restaurant has, bar none, the best fries in the metroplex. They are much better than they look - trust me. My wife and I are on low-carb diets, so fries are forbidden, however, this is the one place in all of Kansas City, where we absolutely must have fries. And, even though they are large, and we could/should split an order as a possible compromise towards our diets, we, instead, each get our own order of the wonderful, crunch, flavorful morsels and we fight over the loose fries that invariably topple off each pile onto the tray on the way to our seats. P.S., the BBQ is GREAT here, too. If you like spicier sauces, they have mild, hot, and "extra hot", which really truly is. All go great with fries, too <grin>.
