Something for Everyone. There are now 4 kinds of movie going experiences to be had at the Olathe Studio 30. * Regular - Don't know what it's called, but it's a regular movie going experience that everyone expects. Although they do tend to have nicer chairs than some places.

* IMAX - Much better seating, you don't have to worry about someone sitting right in front of you and blocking your view. Plus the IMAX screen that is far larger than a regular screen helps too. In addition, the sound and special effects are great here ...

* New ... Fork & Screen - Maximum occupancy of 80, higher end theater seating with a 'bar' in front of you. A little pricier, but you don't have to stand in line. Real servers take your order and bring you really good food. I really like the bacon cheeseburger and fries! Dinner & a movie takes on a whole new meaning. There is a limit to 18 years and older unless with a parent

* Even Better! Premier Cinema! Must be 21 or older. Maximum occupancy of 32. Leather Recliners (yes, feet up style) and small tables that move to your lap increase the pleasant atmosphere. Same menu, but you also get a small silver bucket of popcorn free.

Oh, and the new bar that allows you to wait in style until your movie starts seating serves the good stuff and they proudly display the bottles.

I am no longer afraid to go to the movies on a Friday or Saturday night ... now I just get my tickets in advance, pay a little more (not much), and plan on having dinner at the theater.

Well done, AMC .... Well done!

Multiplex and megaplex theater chain shows mainstream movies in a plush setting.. In Short
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.

It's a nice theater, but.... We've seen quite a few movies here. It's a nice theater, and a good place to go after dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants. Everything is pretty new and nice, but there's not much atmosphere to the place. However, it's a good movie-watching experience. But I guess it had better be for $8.50/adult. This place always make me think about sneaking into another theater after my feature because my wallet feels so light when leaving.
